Good to know about the Torsen, skdrypj. Thanks!
Question:
I'm concerned about part time 4wd. I do a lot of driving in the mountains and I don't want to have to think about changing something when I hit a patch of snow or ice.
Is the Sequoia unsafe?

But since my last 3 trucks/suv's have had some form of full time 4wd(My $26000 Jeep Liberty had a similar setup as the GX, just with an open diff instead of a torsen, And my $42000 F150 has a clutch based active AWD system.), I would be seriously pissed spending minimum $62000 on a Sequoia and not getting that feature. All of the other large SUV's and most of the full size trucks have it in one way or another.

New here with a just purchased used 2019 GX460 Premium (no adjustable ride height). I pull a 5500 lb boat about 3 miles each year to launch and recover. I also pull a 20ft Haulmark car trailer that I use for moving chores with friends and landscaping projects.
I understand the GX is rated at 6500 lbs and 500lb tongue weigh with the factory hitch package that came with it.
Here's my question: I am concerned about rear end sag especially with the 5500 pound boat because I am unsure of that tongue weight - will I be okay with just an adjustable ball insert to raise it a bit if I need it - or have I made a fatal error by not getting a 'Luxury' model the airbags in the back? Are the rear spring of the GX pretty robust?
I am coming from a GMC Yukon Denali that had the auto leveling in the back that always leveled me out.
Thanks for your input.

But you can just get a set of $150 Airlift air bags. They insert inside of the coil springs. I have them and use them when I tow my 5500 lb travel trailer which probably has a 650-700 lb tongue in conjunction with a weight distribution hitch.

I have a 2012 GX460 with a factory tow setup. I have a Yamaha Wave runner on a single Triton trailer set up for a 2" ball. What kind of hitch ball receiver do I need? Do I need the one that raises the ball 1 or 2 " or the one that lowers the ball 1 or 2 "? Stock suspension. I would appreciate an advice and would love to see the pictures of your setups. Also, any recommendations on the brand of the ball receiver? Curt? Walmart one? Thanks in advance.

Your trailer has to be LEVEL or VERY slightly down at the hitch when connected to the tow vehicle, this will provide the most stable towing. The drop or rise of the ball receiver depends on the height of your trailer to achieve a level tow. If the hitch is high and the trailer tilted up it becomes unstable and prone to sway. For the ball receiver all 2" will work fine, just buy the drop that ensures your trailer is level when connected.

In Canada the "Executive" version include the transmission cooler, full off-road options, adjustable suspension, ML stereo and more (basically all options).
When towing I am never in a hurry, tow at between 60-65 mph (100-105 kph). I also live in the mountains, pulling the rocky mountain passes, the GX handles it just fine

Hi. i would like to do some towing with my 2018 GX. i have only owned it for about 6 months. It is wired to tow, and i am looking at hitches. Looks like a bolt on unit. My GX is rated for 6500 lbs towing, but all I find are 5000lb hitches. Is that what I need, or is their another source somewhere for a class IV hitch?
Any recommendations or advice welcome.

Yes, the GX has a tow rating of 6,500 lbs ... but ONLY IF a Class IV Hitch is installed ... meaning one that ALSO attaches to the side frame rails. The simple 4-Bolt Class III Hitch is rated for 5,000 lbs. What is maddening to me is that when a "Receiver" is present ... most owners don't know the difference to the above ... a potential catastrophic situation. IMHO ... any hitch installed should ALWAYS match the stated towing capacity of the vehicle. I'm amazed the DOT has not better regulated this subject ... not into regulation ... but ...
Buy the full-on Lexus OEM Class IV Hitch ... an easy 1-odd hour installation ... with torque wrench in hand.
