It makes sense, if Lexus was going to do one they would do both being in the same area. It’s just a shame that they used such bad lighting for the interior of the GX and haven’t steeped it up (as far as I know).

No mention of the additional leds in the ‘12 product sheet
https://pressroom.toyota.com/release...+info.download
it mentions all the others though that are in all years

Someone (technical writer or higher up) along the line dropped the ball about this change of cup holder and forward bin with LEDs....considering the cabin LEDs are mentioned as a standard feature. If anyone with a '13+ model has any additional interior lights please add to thread.

Yes I still have the wireles solar cup holder lights. They work great when i remember to leave them on the dashboard to charge. Lol.
@Acad35751, yes all of those lights are available. After I switched out the internal LEDs, it is so bright that I rarely noticed other lights. Hahha

I have to admit... I don't really notice any of the nighttime ambient lighting at this point. Perhaps if a bulb goes out I will notice at some point :-) I did a full LED interior swap as well.

It would be nice to open a compartment and be able to see what is in there without turning on our DIY LED upgrade. The lights in the compartments should be at least functional, not a weak yellow glow

Still looking at best way to pull lights out of the '13 cupholder part I have. Not built in by any means but could be soldered into remove-able assembly as well. I'll report back if I get open and what type of LED are used...if only a picture. I'd like to put in some brighter ones not of stock color.
EDIT: Of course stock color might not be bad if illumination was far greater. There are probably hits in the threads here dealing with lighting. Might be safe to assume same LED was used.

Finished my air horn install today (DIY post coming). Thinking about this mod now. Not sure if I should buy the cup holder you have or just mod mine? The shifter cover does have lights that dim so it should be easy to find the necessary location to tap into. This would require a dimmable LED though.

I lucked out on the used part at around $100.... I think used parts market puts it at around $250....and new... well around $450-500. I would think this would be a fairly easy mod. Even if it didn't look perfect the lights are hidden behind the cupholder divider

Swapped part this weekend... looks so much better. Such a small thing but the essential flawless replacement takes one of those eyesores out of the daily equation. I'll keep my old spare in case I drop something that literally splits the cover in two :-)

Came across this brand new full assembly for $120/shipped from UAE. I may have to part with my current one at some point for someone who has a really messed up cupholder or who wants to add illuminated cupholder to their 10-11.
This part in US goes for over $625 new + shipping
It came today and was factory new and shiny. My stock and the previous used one didn't have that little rubber floor mat in the bottom of the cupholder. If this is a stock piece guess I never paid attention to it. Took all of 15 minutes for me to swap the whole assembly in.
