Get the factory style locking clips on there and make the holding straps smaller (maybe arm hinge style) and patent it in a plastic model. I could see people buying this for $50 or so.
The video shows making the lower hinges but not the installation of them.

Nice mod! I could see this also work with thinner plastic or
clear acrylic.

I'd buy one...
I could fabricate one but it wouldn't be pretty :-)

Another option I saw on Pradopoint
Then the pic got me thinking how hard it would be to add a rear door handle as well.

What is the purpose of that rear door handle? Sleep inside then exit the rear?
That table is larger but it looks weak. It looks like screws were used in the plastic. I would use bolts and washers to reinforce it.

Just some ideas on the table as bigger but still allow access to panels in the door.
Yeah... if someone wanted to sleep inside over-landing or camping. I would like to be able to go out the back door myself. I remember when I was putting in the LEDs and had the seats down and in rear thought I'll go out the back door....NOT.
Or... if someone had the rear 3rd half down that rear passenger could simply exit the rear door instead of the alternative of moving second row forward. Surely some circumstances where this would be more convenient. Might just be my nostalgia of the rear facing seat of station wagons of yesteryear and exiting the rear of the vehicle as well.

Anyone know if its possible to install that rear interior handle into the gx460? I see it could be useful if you have a single kid in the 3rd row.
Also, i have locked myself in the cargo area while cleaning the windows/changing to LEDs and didn't feel like climbing over the seats; called the wife inside the house to come let me out

You would need to likely source the parts from overseas.
I bought my 020 module for the Crawl Control project here. Looks like that is showing up today.
This might be something I explore after the Crawl Control project. I'd want to reach out to Prado owner and see if measurements are exact. If the indoor latch can't natively interact with the existing door mechanism I'd probably pass. Need to see if they are the same PN.

I asked them if they ship to US. Exchange rate puts at around $191. It gives you a little extra storage with the bottom pocket too when stowed.
