This is a incomplete parts list for reference. I did not include the fuses or the relay as seen in the 1st page picture diagram. Also looking for the wire harness.

Dash Switch: $65 84255-60011
Control module computer/assembly: $170 55910-50010 It looks like the LS460 shares the same part. There is a used one for $26 on ebay.
Heated Steering Wheel (black color, with wood trim) $1900 Used one from a wrecked GX about $1025 on ebay.

I'm not sure how I feel about getting a used wheel from a wrecked GX. Most of the ones I see wrecked have the airbags deployed. Kind of worried about the structural integrity of the steering wheel afterwards.

For $2,000+ in parts, this is probably not worth it.

If you could find a used one from a GX that got T-Boned on the right had side might be an option.

That's a good idea. Hopefully, one will come up online. Most I've found were front end damage or roll overs.... There were quite a few that looked like they rolled.

I found two threads that had users talk about adding the heated steering wheel on a Prado 150. I will have to read through the information at a later time.

The translated links sometimes might not display pictures. If you go to the untranslated site, you can see some pictures.

Here is a used heated steering wheel for $776

Looks like a pretty straight forward mod but not cheap. I would have been looking into this one myself had mine not already been optioned with it.

Who actually drives holding the wheel at 10 and 2 position though? Guess with cold hands I would change position for warmth. I drive with one hand on the top but I get it.

I don't normally either...but like you point out...when it is cold the hands migrate there. :-)

EDIT: Wish it was 360 degrees like the one on my old '02 Maxima but I'll take what I can get when it is cold.

I usually hold it at 8’ and sometimes at 4 and 6’ too so the heat position is perfect. But I wish it has low/hi settings as I found it’s too hot unless it’s very cold.

I usually end up turning mine off after 5-10 minutes. It does get plenty warm

I always thought it was stupid until I used it. Granted, it doesn't hardly ever get cold enough to enjoy here in Houston but 2-3 times a year, I love it!

In weather like today in MN, -9 degree's, this feature rocks! Never owned a vehicle with a heated steering wheel but im sure glad it's only about 50% of the steering wheel. The wood on the steering wheel adds that luxury feel i would expect out of a 60k vehicle.

Wife's car has one but when she is late coming home in the cold with her car parked in the open parking lot all day, wheel heat takes a while to warm up(it's not instant)
She says wheel is bone chilling cold for her arthritic fingers. I got her a pair of good quality heated gloves with Lithium battery. Push the button, it heats right up. No more problem.
So IMO, instead spending $$$ to retrofit the wheel good pair of heated gloves may be an option. Hers will last 3 hours on high setting. Battery can be charged over night. There are ones
one can plug into the cigarette lighter but then driver has to deal with wires which may tangle up. Oh, well speaking of luxury our big car has contour adjusting and massage seats.
