Ive been wondering if the OEM projectors are a standard fitment since they are denso. If you could swap them out with a Bi-Xenon or Bi-LED that would be awesome, but the stock headlights are pretty good so I am pretty low in the motivation department.
i did retrofit Bi-Xenons into my Liberty CRD. Not the best picture, but I painted the reflector bowl to match the body and use Morimoto MiniD2S 5.0 projectors with 50Watt Ballasts and they are the best headlights Ive ever had:

yeah, kind of where I'm at. Once I put in those LED DRL/High beams the car has an insane amount of light
retrofits like that take some work, and the ride is down during the work. it does add a lot of light when in high beam mode. low beam isnt as different between HID versions.
many of the bis have fans and solenoids. if they break, then gotta start all over. really is a lot of light though that gets added.
another method is to add the bis to the fog area, but either have to shroud it or get the fog version.
even easier and in some ways better might be to go with a 90mm led in the fogs like the morimoto sealed3 hi/lo beams. this could become my next project.
supposedly brighter than hid cbis with 55w ballasts.
for a retrofit, id like to see some lasers added like these biled/laser
by shroud above i didnt mean the small chrome plastic piece, i meant the cover to prevent stuff from getting inside.

I just skimmed through the entire thread and I was wondering if there is an LED replacement now for the DLR/high beam bulbs? I have LED DLR but doesn’t get to higher output high beam. I was hoping by now there would be an aftermarket headlight assembly that resembles 14+ DLR strips incorporated in the assembly. How hard could it be to have the the inside of the assembly modded to have DLR strip running along the bottom of the assembly?
you can bake and open them, add it, then use a new seal to close it up.
another option is to add a tube strip either below or above the assembly.
they actually look good above the assembly, and also have moving turns
theyre not as bright as they look here, at least not the ones i installed. on the gx they fit really well above next to the hood seal
Basic Question: I have a base '13 GX. I find the low beams are not really that bright and would like something brighter before we drive up from TX to NY/MA in a month. I used a DYI headlight referb kit, which cleared up the outer lenses. 1) Will replacing the LB bulbs with OEM replacements improve output? ; 2) if so, are there any other non OEM bulbs I should use that are plug and play that will be brighter than the OEM? Thanks!

I have these in my low and a set in my high beams and they are very bright even through my frosted lenses.

i highly recommend XenonDepot for LED low beam headlights. They are plug and play and the light output is amazing!! I believe the color is in the 5500k ballpark which is pure white similar to factory Xenon.
i know this is called high beam led replacement, but this relates to earlier posts in this thread on other lights
heres some super bright turn/drls ive had for some months.
these are super bright, look at the specs, 30W LED, these are bright as headlights but in the turn position.
a while back i recommended some other ones, but now these are the ones to get
so bright that at the stop light, the signs reflect the turn back to me
