''windshield de-icer'' ... what is that? And other options.

I bought my Infiniti from a dealer in CA and had it shipped up to WA state back in '07 for around $700 IIRC
You could look for another used Premium instead of a Luxury model... that may probably drop $3-4K off the used price. I think the new Luxury models are going high $50s-low $60's with an MSRP that can go up to $70k if they have the Driver Support Package.
Here are brochures of both GX years:
2014
2017

Thanks. I must say it's a tough call. I thought I read 2014 was HID headlights, and the 2017 is LED? If that's the case, I'd far prefer LED. I've just seen that HID's seem to eventually go and are expensive to replace. Most LED's seem to have ridiculous life times. It almost seems that a 2016 Premium for perhaps $40k, would be nicer than a 2014 (assembled 2013) Luxury. I'd miss the heated steering wheel etc, but I'd have to imagine that Toyota/Lexus made some improvements between 2013 and 2017.
I do have one question that I can't find the answer to. I've read in a number of reviews that the 2nd row seats in the earlier GX460's were too flat and uncomfortable. It's not an issue for a few years, as the kids are in car seats, but eventually I'd have them in the seat or friends in the meantime. It would blow me away that Lexus couldn't have seats that are comfortable ... it would really defeat the purpose of owning a luxury car. Do you happen to know if they changed/improved the 2nd row at any point?
Thanks,

'10-'13 Base used halogens high/low beam and Premium used HIDs for low and halogens for high
'14 and up LEDs low and halogen high beams
Not sure a total picture of LED life is there... HIDs have been around a long time and bulbs are relatively cheap these days. My '02 Maxima HID bulbs lasted about 5 years running all the time. My Infiniti still has stock Bi-Xenon HIDs bulbs at 10 years. I've never lost a ballast either.
I think most changes from '14+ have been in the Infotainment system... I think second row benches are all the same. I'll see if I can find the yearly change sheets between years.

I would say the them of "comfortable" of bench seat is very subjective. I have been ride in second row seat for an 5 hour long trip and didn't find anything that would make me "won't do it again". I am sure the captain seat will be more comfortable. It not an apple to apple comparison.

Hzhao is right, it depends on what are you comparing the 2nd row seats to. In my opinion, the 2nd row isn't as quite comfortable as the front and passenger seats. It's more flat and offer less bolstering comparing to my previous SUV. However, if you chose the GX luxury trim with the adaptive air suspension, it's more than compensate for the less glamorous 2nd rows and make the ride for all rows very comfy.
The 2014 Luxury sold, which is probably a good thing, as it takes pressure off.
Thanks
