Another benefit of the semi-aniline leather is that it is much more resistant to stains and color bleed and is easier to clean. I have had issues where my leather belt left a permanent mark on my seat back with the standard Lexus leather but not with semi-aniline leather. My wife's jeans also left some color bleed on the passenger seat but I was able to easily clean it off, I never was able to do that with the standard lexus leather. I will always get the semi-aniline leather in my Lexus, much better overall!

I have a Premium with the black perforated. I had semi-aniline in my ES and RX. Yes, it seems softer, but I don't see a TON of difference in the softness between the two. Semi-aniline has the dye that goes all the way through the leather vs. only partially through. If you care for either properly it will last you a long time. My RX had the light grey interior and jeans would still bleed and stain. Due to the lighter color it would be a bit difficult to remove but not impossible.

If you aren't a fan of the Sepia just remember you will be living with it for a LONG time. You don't want to buy something that you will tire of inside of 6 months. I am not a fan of the Sepia either and was considering a Starfire with Sepia. It was pulled out into the bright sun and the color turned me off so I went with the black on black.

YMMV

My guess is that jeans/pant dye rubbing off. Had the same issue with my old light colored RX seats. I used a diluted Woolite solution to remove it. This issue is not unheard of with lighter colored interiors - especially on Lexus seats

Something similar available in GS350 in our region. Love the color of the new LC. Taking it to to the next level.

Default Cleaning Ecru Leather in GX

We've had our '16 GX for about a year.....it has the Ecru leather AND we actually paid for the Resistall when it was purchased. Both of our kids play baseball, so we constantly have dirty baseball pants sitting in the seats. Anyone have recommendations on what to use when cleaning the leather?

Probably need to go for the black leather next time until kids get older!

I use Lexol leather cleaner and conditioner and it works on some light spots on my beige leather minivan. I used a toothbrush to clean between the creases and it helped but not completely clean.

I’d recommend wipe down with good protector and condition very often and also use a seat cover of some sort or a large cloth when you pick them up after games. Once the dirts get in, it’s hard to get it out.

Also watch out for blue jeans, the dye can rub into the leather.

Get the leather cleaning brush from chemical guys along with Lexol it cleans up good without damaging the leather.

Lexol and a boars hair brush. Toothbrush might be a little too rough. Agitate it then wipe it off. A handheld steam gun with a towel or cloth on the end works well too at removing dirt and stains from leather and the tougher surfaces like carpet and headliners.

Lexol is what I used for awhile. I did have my driver seat redyed when I bought my used GX, Ecru on mine as well. Lexol now strips away the color. I think I have so much wear on my driver seat that any cleaner makes it worse. My driver seat needs to be redyed again. This was done by a highly reputable guy and seems to last for a couple of years before it starts to show flaws. Ecru is a beautiful Luxury look on the GX and requires high maintenance.

Boars hair brush with gentle agitation. Don't use too much product either... if you do, turn the seats on to either dry it out or blow it out.
