You might want to post this in the detailing section of the forum for advice on the condition. I believe the wrinkles are not likely to come out but the dirt etc would come out... which would minimize the look.

The issue with the GX is when you get in/out of the vehicle it's a fairly high step. The previous driver probably slid in/out causing those.

Not a deal breaker if you're getting a deal on it, down the road can be replaced

Default Another seat leather question

Car is a year old. It has developed these butt imprint fairly quickly. I’m not a big guy. Do you think the dealer can/will do anything about this? I don’t know what they would even do? The leather looks stretched and prolly needs replacement. I’m afraid they’ll give me the ol wear and tear routine.

I think the creasing, etc is fairly standard for Lexus leather. our '14 RX has it (only 14k miles). Got a loaner base GX last week and was impressed by the feel of the fake stuff. I also really hate the basketball texture croc skin they chose to put in the GX. Up your game, Lexus!

Creases are ok but I’m taking about the 2 round indentations from my butt-looks ridiculous and almost feels like the bottom cushion is not offering much cushioning compared to my wife’s q7.

i have 70K on my 2012 with the black semi aniline seats and do not have obvious indentations as shown in your pics. Lexus leather is a little “looser” than I’ve seen in other cars.

Have you treated the leather with a cleaner/conditioner product at all?

Are those indentations permanent or do they go away after the seat is unoccupied for a while?

They are permanent. I’ve treated it a few times but they appeared before conditioning. It just won’t go away.

My brand new 2018 with 2k miles has these exact butt imprints. It is my wife’s daily driver and she only weighs 115lb max. Would love to hear your inputs and maybe contact my dealer to see what they say.

p.s.
i do wipe down my leather with conditioner/cleaner weekly. Only a light mist

my interor is also black like yours. Just a quick thought, my mother also has a brand new ‘18 luxury with around 3k miles and her seats still look new. She’s a bit heavier and rarely condition her seats. My seats are starting to show “cracks” also

I think the Luxury’s semi-aniline leather on the seats may hold up better... Just a thought.

Yea, it seems that most of the complaints/issues I am seeing are the non semi-aniline seats. I know I had this leather on my IS350 as well and it looked fantastic when I sold it with 135,000 miles on the clock a few months back. That being said, it sounds like the issues are with the foam under the leather surface?

I have the semi-aniline seats and the leather doesn't look much better. But my GX is 8 years old.

The seats in our new-to-us 2015 Lux look good, except the left rear seat leather is no longer perfectly taut, and there is slight wear on the left thigh bolster of the driver's seat (which is, I suspect, universal). I think that Lexus leather is often a little bit looser in the seat than in competitors' cars. Truck has 50K on it, so I suspect the previous driver was lightweight and because of the little dents in the door sill, may have worn heels. Also, many of these miles were highway miles, so less ingress/egress over time.

Have a good auto upholstery shop have a look. I have a friend who reconditions old cars, and from what I can tell these shops can often do wonders for a surprisingly small cost. YMMV.

My '12 driver's seat doesn't seem to have any major deformation at 54K miles. It is the semi-aniline
