Lux is semi-aniline. If I remember correctly, weren't people with the Prem model complaining about "alligator" seats?

I have the same interior in the same color and my seats look the same. I purchased my 2016 GX in December of 2015

Interesting! You have the same set of wrinkles/creases in the same location on the drivers seat?

I have a 2011 when leather was standard. I had my drivers side dyed when I bought it at 43k miles. It didn't look as bad as the below pictures, but it was definitely worn looking. Every seam and crack has come back and worse. I have over 80k miles now with the pictures shown. This is not a new problem for me and is expected over time. Any imperfections will be amplified over time. The long crack you see in my pictures has gotten worse. I have replaced leather in two Acuras and had the same guy dye one of them.

Point is... If I were buying a new GX, I would want to start with no leather imperfections. Maybe this is too much to ask for and maybe it's just me

Jtrue, may I ask why is S... Nuluxe. This is new material to me...
Picking up a Claret Mica with Black interior. When my wife and I saw the truck... we thought it was leather to tell the true. Been out the game for a while lol. Seen 2004 and 2007 with new trucks. Been reading reviews on the Nuluxe and it got g

ood reviews. Is use by MB, Lexus and a couple of other brands.

Because it's essentially vinyl. If someone is going to drop upwards of $50K on vehicle, it should come with leather. Vinyl doesn't breathe. It may be easier to clean and may hold up better, but I think the jury is still out on that.

Not saying it's bad, just not something I want in a luxury vehicle. Keep in mind, that we're only comparing the actual seating surfaces, as even in the Prem and Lux models, the armrests, sides and back of the seats are NuLuxe.

I prefer the feel of real leather. I would have to imagine that the leather may be stronger, so not as easy to accidentally rip/tear.

I started leasing, so maybe it doesn't matter anymore. I won't have my GX long enough to ever get to the point of Tecman's seats. I will say that my wife's 2010 RX leather looks like Tecman's though.

Here are pictures of the driver's seat from my 2011 GX Base with about 40,750 miles. Driver weighs about 190 lbs.

Default Premium leather vs Luxury leather

Hello Everyone,
I bought a 2016 GX Premium early Jan and have about 2k miles so far. My driver seat back leather is really loose. The second row seats also have some bumps in the leather. It feels like there is some wrinkle or dirt in the foam underneath. Took it to the dealer and they are going to have the Lexus rep look at it when they are in town.

Having said that, i was looking at used 2014 and 2015 GX on autotrader to see how each leather would age after a year or two. It looks like the semi-aniline luxury leather is almost perfect looking on all of them but the premium leather is not aging that well.

What have been your experience because i recall reading on one of the thread that semi-aniline will be the one showing more wear and wrinkles because it is softer.

I have a 2014 with the ecru leatherette interior. It is a love hate relationship. It is the only thing I don't like about my GX. I hate that it is not real leather but it looks real, still looks good, is easy to clean and is holding up well.

If you don't tell your average joe. They Don't know... they think is leather. I had show them and ask like 10 guys that are on the car business and none knew about the Nuluxe/Leatherette. They thought it was real leather. It doesn't bother me and I gave it a good test last week. I took my 80lbs Chocolate Lab to the dog park over the weekend. Jumping around and dirty. I took a few baby wipes and it was good to go.

I have the semi-aniline in black and have had it for approx. 3 months - so far it is wearing well. No deep creases or anything like that but it is early days. It is so soft that I do worry that the seat bolsters will prematurely wear...

Re: faux leather. I had MB-Tex or whatever they call their fake leather and it was amazing! It was pretty hard to tell the difference and it was virtually new after two years. If I were buying a new MB I don't think I would opt for leather...

Kitana,
Since yours is a premium model, then its leather not leatherette. Only the base (2014 to 2016) has Nuluxe and only in black but the 2016 , one can get sepia nuluxe.
