It does not smell like leather and the textured sides do not feel like buttery soft leather. If it is it is very processed. It feels like the plastic cover grandma used to put on her couch. Must be some of that GMO cow leather. At least whatever it is it cleans easy enough.

3 types of seat material:
GX Base - Black NULUXE
GX Premium - Leather (Black, Sepia, Ecru)
GX Luxury - Semi-aniline Leather (Black, Sepia, Ecru)
For more info on semi-aniline...

I think the Premium is "Protected" leather.
If you are looking for a great and easy to use cleaner and conditioner: Chemical Guys. I've tried a lot of leather care products, this has worked the best.

i love ecru when its brand new but i feel like it shows its age much faster.
all leather definitely is not created equal. my husband just got a '16 vw golf r with leather and its not at all equivalent to the leather in my GX. i'm not impressed with the VW leather.

The lexus visit got pushed out, so no updates yet. I think the leather cover is just loose on the foam compared to other cars.
I have a honda pilot and even that leather is still perfect after 35k miles, no wrinkles or dents in the seats from car seats. I had a car seat in the GX for one week and the impression is still there. I had a 2016 ES as a loaner and it had 7k miles and the seats were still perfect and much softer. Not sure if they were semi aniline bc the ES didnt have navigation. So i dont think softness is an issue here.

Lexus leather cleaner & conditioner
The original Lexus brand leather cleaner & conditioner is discontinued.
I'm looking for a product to use on my Ecru leather interior. Lexus parts store
carried the Lexol brand but the label cautioned its use in soft leather. Have anyone
use any other brands or Meguiar's Gold Class Rich Leather 3 in 1 Cleaner, Conditioner,
& Protectant? Just want to make sure my leather isn't damaged due to discoloration or
colorfastness. Any recommendation will be helpful.

Driver's seat leather replacement question
I have a 2015 GX 460 Luxury model that I purchase last month with under 8k miles on it. Former owner was boxer Larry Holmes! The outside leather panel on my driver's seat appeared excessively worn for it's age and Lexus has warranted the replacement of the seat bottom leather. I am really nervous about having this done. I was told it would take the better part of a day and I know there is a lot of technology packed into the seat. I am worried about physical or technological/electrical damage being done in the process. Does anyone have any insight on this type of repair and any advice as to what to expect and whether I should do it?
Thank you!
Thank you!
