On the '14+ the alternate grille is probably more about the radar cruise emblem than the camera mount. Seems to be a lot of space to accommodate the camera

When I put my hand under my front grille it even has kind of a rounded out area to accommodate the camera there as well.

EDIT: looking at my grille and a stock w/camera I would likely have to cut out a slot for it on the bottom below emblem

Someone should confirm with a '14+ when they get the chance but mine already has the mounting bracket for the camera on my grill.

Unfortunately, I am 7600 miles away from my '14 GX to verify if there is an existing bracket like '12. I would think and hope so. Providing the GX is a global platform with single production location in Japan, and relatively limited number of production, it is likely they all have the basic components rather than many variation. But the key is if the wire harness is there. What I am afraid there would be a set of wire harness maybe missing and it could be a combined harness that handles camera, radar cruise, etc. and route the signal to the ECU.

There is likely a junction connector somewhere, and some wire harness connects between camera (or other components) and junction connector if there is no existing connectors for the camera. just a thought.

If there are any other '14+ owners reading this you don't even need to take anything off. You can look down through the opening where the hood latch is. See if there are any connectors not attached to anything like the pics I took.

Did you see any connector or just a mounting bracket?

Yeah in this post

https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gx-...l#post10124050

Two connectors and one like 99% for the camera as it is 4 pin and looks appropriate for application.

All centered, bundled and ready to connect to devices in front of them

The other one I assume for radar cruise

No worries . :-)... if we can confirm the front can work it will make the side cameras a whole lot more approachable as it is far more invasive to get those working. If that is the camera connector it's literally laying out there for us to plug something into it.

That is really good thing. Consider the MTS mod already brought up the camera selection menu, this will be more likely the plug and play. The question is how to get the camera button function to activate the camera since that was on steering wheel where we don't have. The hardest part will be to find the signal wire and re-route to some where.

Yeah.. still researching the wire and button piece. Still trying to find an image... mostly just description and/or pictogram-esque representation of it.

Just reading manual on operation in non-offroad mode the button is used but off-road one can also leverage the dash MTS menu and/or touchscreen on nav.

Here we go.

Does this look similar?
I have 2 different connectors that aren't sealed, but they look a little different from Acrad's.

https://imgur.com/a/dqptT

The wider connector is ribbed, but on Acrad's pictures the wider one looks plain.

Edit:
I took a picture of the front grille as well. we have a horizontal piece below the emblem and a small vertical plastic piece supporting it. I do not think there is a notch for the camera (without trimming it).

Yep... that looks like them

The bigger plug is like mine and has a dummy cap/plug on the end of it.
