Yea I agree. If springs are a concern, it's better to get the right ones to save money in a long term. besides springs are pretty cheap

i was looking at the rears today, is there even enough room to fit the reservoir? it looks pretty cramped in there
i agree with @@Nickk6 i think i am just going to wait. the price is really great but i want a kit tuned for the GX.

Got some specs from 4runner forum for the spring. It's 3" x 14" @600lb.

Anyone know the rate on our srock front spring?

I believe the rate is pretty close to the stock spring if not higher but have no idea on the length of the stock.

Again, the gx is the same as 4runner. If they can fit the reservoir at the rear, I would assume the chance we can do it is about 99%.

They did state that one may need to drill holes to mount the reservoir since there is no thread in the existing holes.

Plenty of room for the reservoirs. I have a bracket welded on that's just a straight piece of metal and then two hose clamps holding the reservoir to it. The hose for the reservoir is also held down by a hose clamp, but that one is screwed to the frame. 100's of miles in the dirt and they are still on their solid. I can get better pictures when I rotate the tires this week if you guys are interested.

How is your coilover? What rate did you get?

Do you think the 600lb fj one can support the GX?

The rear has no coil over, only the front is adjustable. I can't remember what my rear springs are, I believe I got the regular duty since I have air bags incase I carry too much weight. Surprisingly I've not bottomed my rear out, only my front, so I would not worry too much about the rear.

Sorry i wasn't clear. I meant the front coilover. Do you know the rate or length of it?

Just got the shipping confirmation from Toyota. hopefully getting the kit by the end of the week and will try to install it during the weekends.

Also just found another part that may work on the GX. The Tacoma TRD suspension kit. A little bit more expensive($100) and unknown spring rate (expected to be 600 as FJ kit), no ETA.

The good side is this kit comes with OEM strut mount and fully assembled.
In case anyone is interested, the part number is ptr13-35150.

I'm not sure I checked my invoice on the suspension, but they didn't list the spring rates. I wouldn't mess around with the Tacoma stuff, I've heard that's completely different from some 4runner guys.

The front reservoir mounts on a bracket.

Yea just saw the same. The front should be fine but the rear is different with thicker bushings and a much softer ride.
https://www.4runners.com/threads/wil...n-runner.2995/

There is no front reservoir for 4runner, fj or tacoma trd. Only tundra trd has front reservoirs.

Anyway, I will try fj ones out and see. Probably next week because of the potential 1 ft of snow.
If it's too soft or doesn't give me any lift, I will find some legit branded springs or give up.

Found something on Bilstein's website.

4runner: https://cart.bilsteinus.com/details?id=6630207403483465025&fyv=true&Year=6441448334243370966&Make=728129652649867473&Model=3552789319516725134&Submodel=3437467149318693737&Pos=Front
FJ: https://cart.bilsteinus.com/details?id=1070317338885074846&fyv=true&Year=6441448334243370966&Make=728129652649867473&Model=879798968535672623&Submodel=8364304778601585403&Pos=Front&Dr=3112009286152296090

There should be some differences since they have different specs and part number.
Emailed Bilstein and waiting for their reply to see what exactly the differences are.

The rear shocks are the same according to their search engine.

The GX is ~400 pounds heavier, are you changing the springs?
