My lexus 2006 GX470 is suddenly slowly responsive after a recent replacement of the airconditioner front evaporator (under the dashboard). I need to hit firmly on the gas pedal prior i only needed to lightly step on the gas pedal

Ask a mod to move this to the GX forum. This is for the 2nd gen GS

That's really odd, I can't really see how that repair would have any effect on the throttle.

Take it back and make them take a look at it.

The GX though has a pretty lazy throttle response.

I have had that problem with various lexus models, especially after oil changes . Disconnect battery positive cable for 30 mins, clears it up.
