Can you confirm if the signal trailer hitch is working as well after this mod ?

 

It works just fine. I've only pulled a small uhaul trailer, but no issues. The great thing about this mod is its easy to unplug and re-plug in the old module in less than 10 mins if you ever have any issues.

 

I am in the middle of the project right now..how did u fit the 8 pin relay into the original relay? I am trying to plug the pin relay but the pins of the female are too small and won't fit this 8 pin relay that I bought from ebay. Any hints on what you did?

 

The easiest way for me was to tap into the relay wires. I was recommended “posi-taps” by a couple members on here. Much better than the vampire clips, but the posi-taps are a bit difficult to find in store.

 

No that' not my question, I already tapped the wire as the OP did in his post. My question is how do I plug the 8 pin or where do I plug it exactly? Would it go instead of original 18 pin plug? But the smaller 8 pin won't plug easily there as pins in female are too small

EDIT: After looking at original poster pictures more carefully, looks like I am missing one piece (red) that I didn't buy that's where I plug the 8-pin relay to it. Anyone one has link to that red flashing relay?

 

The red relay in that picture should be the new aftermarket turn signal. I got the diode dynamics

I actually didn't get any aftermarket turn signal and that is what caused the confusion. I only have the 8 pin and thought I only need to plug it in the place of 18 pin female. I guess I didn't read the thread properly and need to purchase the diode relay

Would this still work with other mods for folding mirrors and windows? Anything I should expect not working after this mod?

 

do you have the plug in obd module that does the auto fold in when you lock the doors? If so, do you have the one that flashes your hazards when you open the doors? That one will not work properly with the turn signal mod.

but if you have the obd auto fold in module without the flashing hazards, you will be fine.

 

I just got the Diode turn signal relay and plugged it to the 8 ping harness but nothing is working. I have tested every pin connectivity with original 18 pin via ohmmeter to make sure pins are connected and secure but no luck.

Thats the same one I bought for my 16 GX. It’s been working great. I also have it on another Toyota car.
