Default hesitation

my 2010lexus gx460 hesitates when driving at speeds over 40 mph. It does not domit all the time. I noticed that when it happens the tachometer stays put. I changed the spark plugs. It does not turn on any warning light. Any ideas? Recently change transmission oil in the local Lexus dealer. Transmission problems? Thanks

What are you doing when it happens? Are you accelerating? Hard or lightly? Or are you slowing/braking? Hesitation can mean a lot of different things to different people, so I think more specifics would help.

Throttle response is so bad on ours, that after driving ANY other vehicle, it seems to lag badly when you apply throttle. Almost like it quits before responding to inputs. Really irritating. Push on the throttle, nothing happens, push more still nothing, stab it way too hard, and you get way too much, after a big lag.

Thats normal. Its just horrible logic of the transmission shifting for fuel economy. Doesn't want to go out of 6th gear unless you force it to. I typically leave mine in manual and then leave it on 5, then shift over to 6th when i need it.

I know this has been suggested before but might be worth looking at Pedal Commander. I see they now have a Bluetooth version if you want to change settings on your phone or you can just change on device as well.

https://www.pedalcommander.com/produ...L+V8+%28GX+460

I think it can be easily removed as well for those concerned about permanent install on a vehicle with warranty.

Also a 30 day satisfaction guarantee

I'm looking at the pedal commander. Lots of money so it better work. Between the poor throttle response, lack of low rpm power and constant bottoming out of the rear end, i'm ready to unload this beast. It's only got 6k on the clock.

I'd install as quickly as you get it to take advantage of the 30 day money back guarantee in case it doesn't really do anything for you.

Have anyone actually installed one on their GX460 or other Lexus vehicles? The reviews are positive. I’m tempted to order one.

Did you purchase/install this? Considering buying one.

I chatted online with the owner of off road warehouse https://offroadwarehouse.com about a pedal commander and he will give a special price shipped on it. He has to advertise them at MAP pricing of $299, but I will just say that he offered about 50 reasons why I should buy from him.

I didn’t get to buy one yet because of my $3,000 out of pocket cost for my surgery has me wishing and not buying....

Have not bought it yet. I would like to see one in action first. Most of those things are not worth the effort, let alone the money. Although the power commander I put on a Suzuki DL1000 motorcycle, helped the poor mapping of the fuel injection. Hard to say it was worth it though. Maybe just barely. My new Africa twin has the standard lean die out off idle that most new bikes have. The bung to fix it is about $250 and several hours install. I have heard mixed reviews of that one.

Fortunately it looks like install/removal is a 15 minute job if one needs to take advantage of the 30 day MBG
