I saw a used '14 unit for around $2k on eBay. I'd probably explore some of the 3rd party repair shops.... it still won't be cheap but possibly a 1/3 of what dealer stated.

Can you replace the entire setup with the Android screen that hzhao is installing?

I don't think so.. the android unit sits on top on main unit to inherit the stock system functions.

Default Gx460 navigation won’t turn on after the battery disconnected

as the title stated. When I reconnected the positive and the negative terminals back on. Started the car and my nav system doesn’t turn on. No touch screen functionality and unable to turn on the heater etc. the buttons for the climate control work, but there’s no fan kicking in. Checked both the fuses for the navigation rad 1 and rad 2 and no blown fuses. Any ways to reset the system?

What year?

Radio still work with steering wheel controls?

Unfortunately not much help from FSM as it really only hints at a condensation/damage issue.

Do you have access to Techstream or something like OBD Fusion?

Are you seeing any of these other systems affected with Fuse #2?

Radio controllers not working either. Assuming the buttons for the volume controls etc. on the steering wheel doesn’t work either. I’ll check that fuse. It’s a 2016 model

For 2016 GX, it should be still under warranty. Assume that you had disconnected battery for other unrelated reason and have not done any modification of any electronic associated items, I would take it to dealer to sort out the problem.

Waiting for a call from my Lexus guy this morning. My other car won’t start so I decided to take the battery out and ran it. Drive it home. Popped the battery back into the GX and it hasn’t been the same since. I took batteries out in my other cars before. Never had any issue like this. Makes me doubting the longevity of the Lexus brand.

Sounds like something shorted. Are you sure you didn't accidentally connect the positive and negative when putting the battery back in? Hopefully you get it sorted out.

What's the other car you put the GX battery in?

I’m no certified mechanic, but I’m no stranger to working on cars. So, yes! The connections made were correct. Positive and negative. It was the most simplest procedure. Disconnected battery for GX. Put it in a SC400. Drive it home. Put the battery back into the GX. That’s it. Wife ain’t too happy about it. Lol.

The other car was a Sc400. Took it a while to get the sc running, but once it did. I drove it home right away. That’s another problem I need to fix. Sounds like an alternator issue? Talked to a service guy earlier and he said to hold down the power button on the radio and see if that work. Going to go try it right now and see if it works. If not, I gotta take it in. Wish the dealer was closer though. It’s gotta be something simple. I just feel it.

So, come to find out that the backup camera work. So the display are working at least. Now the climate controllers are working. Just can’t change the mode on the fan. Come on Lexus. There’s one button that is also important. The fan controller. All I got is auto.

I remembered that I had switch the display off while I was driving home one day on our way back from a road trip. Maybe that has something to do with it.

isnt there some time requirements for battery connection and disconnection? I remember somewhere that theres a certain amount of time to wait for something related to the hard drive and NAV.
