I had something weird happen today after I ended a call that was through Bluetooth. After we hung up, the screen seemed to freeze on "Call ended." Nothing I could do would power off the radio or switch screens on the main screen. I was also unable to control the volume, nav, radio stations, etc. I tried disabling my BT and turning it back on but nothing. I finally had to pull off the interstate, turn off the vehicle and then back on and everything was back to normal. I assume it had something to do with the Bluetooth or call, but I have never experienced anything like that. Has anyone else had this happen?

Have had it happen a lot, using IPhone with latest IOS. You can reboot the head unit by holding down the power button for the radio, I think about 3 to 5 seconds, and that will cause it to reboot, no reason to turn the truck off and on. Usually everything works fine after that. To me it says it is not the phone but Lexus, I have complained since 2014 but they refuse to acknowledge the problem since it can not be reproduced at will.

I've had it happen twice - once it rebooted by itself and the other time I had to stop/start the engine - all this before I knew the reboot option. I've not had it happen since though I find the lag for the user interface to be maddening. Sometimes it seems to take up to a second or so to respond when I am changing radio stations via presets.. but that's probably another thread altogether.

I have iphone with the latest firware but only ran into the freeze once last year and it hasn't happened again. It wasn't BT but happened when I was playing around with the touch screen. Since, I rarely go into the screen when changing input or presets. I mostly use the lower buttons or sometimes the steering wheel.

Thanks for all the replies. I suppose it is somewhat relieving (or maybe concerning) to see that I am not alone in this experience. As long as it is an infrequent occurrence and can be overcome w/ a power button reboot, I can't complain too much. I've had several other vehicle w/ heavy tech packages and they all have their own quirks.

Dropped GX off this morning at dealer for airbag recall, and just off the phone with CS:
Dealer tried factory reboot/firmware update etc. all does nothing, concluded hardware short/bad, quote $1600 for part plus few hundred for labor.

I assume this is the bottom unit. Mine is shot as well. Considering the used units are 2K+, 1600 is not bad. Make sure they save your old unit. I would be interested in seeing the back of the base unit.

No idea if that is the case here but I have repaired so many things in the last 5-10 years with cheap parts replacement repairs generally being replacement of bulging capacitors. Sad since most repairs are like less than a dollar.

I just repaired a CD player not long ago, parts are cheap, much easier with home computer/audio/video products, but don't have the skill/time for car. ![Frown](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)
CS gave me a small discount, ~$17xx total, hope to get it back by end of this week, will ask to keep the old unit for backup.

It just happened to my '15 Premium. Display got stuck at the warning screen for a couple of minutes until I stopped and restarted the car then everything is fine after that (but it seems a little slower to show the Navi screen).
Is Lexus doing something behind the scenes that causes this issue?
