Remember dont do the negative battery terminal thing on these vehicles for your wallets sake. You need to allow it time to "fully turn off" aka waiting after the vehicle is shut off. Then you can go ahead and do that. Theres a tech bulletin I think in the sticky. Follow that if you must.

However your under warranty as mentioned above, much safer.

I know this is an old thread, but I ran across it several times while searching and never found an answer, thought I should give some closure that for 2014 models (and maybe later years), no dealer programming is necessary, just swap out the microSD cards. I just had mine done today, and all that was required was the card (part number PT219-GEN08-19) and clicking the Update Maps option under navigation settings (the part number ending will likely change to -20 once this year's nav update comes out). Cost was $210+tax.

Did you notice any worthwhile differences in the navigation system after you did the update?

I'm not sure, I just picked the car up, but am taking it up into the mountains this weekend and will hopefully get more accurate routing.

What do you mean by “showing the traffic”? For your 2020 GX, the traffic data is provided by HD Radio broadcasting. Make sure your area is covered with HD stations, and go through your settings and make sure HD traffic info is selected.

Default Home screen on/off intermitent

All of the sudden the complete home display went dark. i did not change battery or anything. It comes on and off occasionally. Radio does not work when it is out. Heat works but can't control the fan?
Brought it to dealership they said you probably need a new computer $4000.00 Is there a way to reset the computer? any help appreciated. GX 460 2014.

is it possible of loose connection at back? Is it happened during driving? Anything done for the head unit or in the area recently? The true reset would be disconnect the battery for 10+ minutes and start again.

Yes! It happens when driving. I will disconnect the battery and try that first. Nothing has been done to the head unit ever.

Thanks
I will let you know.

Back of the head unit, if all the harnesses are secure, nothing loose. But if there is nothing have been done in that general area, it maybe unlikely. Then you may have a issue with the unit itself. There is a place that they do make repaired to the Lexus head unit, @Acrad may have the contact info.

Default 2014 GX460 Infotainment system randomly resets

I have a 2014 GX460. Bought it new in 2014. It has 37,000 miles on it. The infotainment system periodically resets itself and I lose all preset radio stations including SIRIUSXM. The dealership cannot replicate it and insinuates my cell phone must be to blame. Has anyone experienced this before
