Hi. Is there a table where I can see the different software and firmware versions for the G8 head unit? I have:
Navigation = V19A8760
Operating System = 15.8310
and would like to know if these are current. Don't care so much about the map itself.

Edit: Went to Lexus Website and downloaded 13LHENNA-AA01_1021.kwi. Clublexus threads say this is V15AXXXX. I already have V19A so guessing this is old?

 

For about a week my 17 gx460 has symptoms wheee the buttons for the infotainment and climate controls don’t actually work. The unit is on and responds but you can’t change the temp, output location, or anything else. The buttons look like they are working but are not. Radio doesn’t work either.

I’ve tried resetting the infotainment system via the power button and via battery unplug. The system did start working randomly after starting the vehicle but failed again and started working again too. So random intermittent failures.

where should I start? Replace battery?

any ideas are appreciated.

I have a 2015 Lexus GX 460. A few months ago my radio began to cut in and out. Some days it worked other days not working . My backup camera works. Took to dealer and stated needed to replace radio. Decided to get a second opinion and received the code B15EC. Mayday Battery needs replacement. Replaced the mayday battery and it’s still not working. Mechanic stated needs time “update” system. It’s been hours and radio not working. I just paid $700 to replace the battery and car’s radio still not working. Any ideas or recommendations other than the obvious? I really would appreciate it.

 

When you say " Radio Doesn't Work " do you mean nothing works? AM radio? Touchscreen?

If you can not adjust your A/C along with no radio function, the problem is your head unit. @Acrad may have the info about a repair shop that deal with the Lexus head unit. That might be your best option other than very costly replacement.

I went to the dealer and got a current navigation SD card. I installed it in the slot in my 2018 GX. I followed a few simple prompts on the screen and it works. I also have a 2015 GX and wanted to update it with my 2018 SD card, but it would not upload the newer navigation information and it told me to go the dealer. Has anyone else had this happen and if so, any suggestions on how to get it working (without going to the dealer)?

 

you can not use the same micro SD for multiple vehicles. The update process will generate the database key that is associated with your head unit. And you will need that SD in your updated head unit in order to function correctly.

 

Thanks @hzhoa, so the nav sd from the '18 GX will only work with the head unit it was initially installed in? There's no way to re-key the older (but newer than the card in my '15) sd card to another head unit?

 

Correct. You will need to purchased another update SD for your 15 GX.
