2014 GX 460 owner with Nav. Purchased this vehicle recently and noticed the head unit cycles through the Enform screen then the road warning screen and then reboots about three times or more until it finally (may be five miles down the road) allows me to hit Continue on the warning screen. It does this with or without the map SD card in. Recently in April it went in for a fuel pump recall and in the Lexus notes they recommended replacing the Mayday battery module to remedy the issue with the head unit. During these restarts I can still use all of the climate controls, the satellite radio plays during the time the screen is going through the various screens until the unit restarts again. So it's not entirely freezing up, its like its failing to make certain checks and then restarts. I had a shop check the main battery voltage and they said it was good. I'm going to check it again when I get home and make sure this is the case. I tried to download the firmware update from Lexus's site and it said "New software version not compatible" Whenever I tried to upgrade. Current software is Navigation : V12A8710, Operating System: 15.8300 . I connected my phone and downloaded the over the air app suite update which added Alexa, etc to the sources. I'm just looking for advice of where to start/ what to do about this $300 Mayday Battery Module since there is no sense in replacing it if it's not the issue. I have a scanner that I'll try to pull the DTC codes if there are any which I'm sure there will be with the restarts happening.
Any advice is greatly appreciated! My 2005 GX470 that I've had for years has been great. I hope this GX460 turns out to be the same once I get these gremlins worked out.

Look at Lexus TSB L-SB-0011-18, attached.
It discusses updating the nav system software to fix a variety of bugs. You do have an older version of software which is mentioned in the TSB.
I assume this is something that only the dealer can do. Do this first before replacing any hardware.

I'm having same issues in 2023. Did you ever figure something out
[QUOTE=diggler30;10205355]Figured I'd just leave these pics here of what I'm seeing on my end...in case anyone else encounters in the future. I will try a few things before I fork out $1,700 and will post back if I find a solution.
I was wondering what you ever figured out. My truck just started doing same thing this morning 5/19/23

'14+ owners should be able to install the firmware updates themselves without a visit to the dealer

If the firmware updates don't fix you likely have a hardware problem that will require head unit replacement whether refurb or used.
One could always try this repair with board swap if electronically inclined

'14 GX Navigation: "New Software is Not Compatible with the System"
I'm having an issue where adjusting the volume on the ML stereo resumes paus media on my phone (Pixel 6 Pro). This didn't happen with my '13 GX, also with the ML stereo, and same phone.
I'm trying to update the Software on my ML Stereo w/Navigation, downloaded it from Lexus's site and put it on a newly FAT32 formatted USB thumbdrive. I follow the instructions but after plugging in the USB Thumbdrive it tells me "New Software is Not Compatible with the System". I have confirmed the Model ID (13LHENNA-AA01) is the same from the download and my stereo.
Is it possible my current firmware is higher than the one that's available from Lexus? I can't seem to find any changelog for different firmware versions so don't know if that's the case or not.
From my Stereo:
Navigation: V12A8110
Operating System: 12.8050
From Lexus's Website:
Downloaded firmware: V10C8871
Edit:
I was able to open the .kwi/firmware file I downloaded from Lexus and I'm thinking the update provided only updates the previous version V19A8871 or listed software versions and it's not a cumulative update. Does anyone know where I can find all update/firmware files? It's looking I have to update them one version update at a time until I get to the latest version.

2014 Lexus GX460 non-nav stuck in radio boot loop
I think I have the exact same problem as this closed thread from 2018. 2014 Lexus GX460, cheapest radio option (no navigation, not Mark Levinson). Reverse camera works fine, but the radio is black or showing an SD card loading screen on loop. I used volume long press, no dice. Unplugged battery for 10+ mins. No dice. I'd really like to keep this car for another 5 years or so, and I don't mind spending reasonable money to keep it nice. So:
1. Is the correct fix to buy this $2K part (86140-60010) and replace the broken unit?
2. While I'm spending the money and it's broken, is there any way I can sub in something better? The non-nav unit has never had a single firmware upgrade since 2014 and it's been slow and laggy from day 1. I'd like something that just works well (tbh I miss the $50 Pioneer radio I had in my 2007 Xterra!), so fiddly retrofits probably aren't up my ally.
If nothing else, hopefully this helps some of the other folks that are experiencing these "rare" and expensive radio failures.

I have a ‘15 Premium, with a ML head unit that has been having problems.
The issues began a few months ago with the back-up camera remaining ON after returning the transmission to Drive and moving forward. The camera would remain ON until I pressed the power button ON/OFF or pressed any of the other display buttons, ie Audio, Nav, Home, ect.
In the past few weeks the audio has been cutting out for random periods of time. Sometimes for a few seconds, sometimes for a minute or more. These audio cut-outs have occurred no matter the input selected: FM, Sat, USB, CD.
I've checked the Historical codes with ODBLink which reported:
- B15AD Navigation Processor Malfunction
- B15D0 MOST communication Malfunction
- B15D Stereo Component Amplifier Disconnected
Anyone have some insight on how to proceed to correct this problem?
