on the page with the pedal commander unit, I selected PC27, and I had clicked on the "don't like the price?" button in Yellow.

A chat popped up and it was a real person.

I drove a GX470 and felt the power delivery was much better than the GX460. "You drive torque, not horsepower". The torque curve is much flatter on the 4.7 than the 4.6. So even though the 4.7 may not make as much power as the 4.6, it makes it at a lower RPM, making it much more usable. You don't need to wind the 4.7 up as much to get the power you want.
I may try the pedal commander. that might help in the throttle lag. It won't add more power. I don't really need more power (never enough, I know). But really what I want is much better throttle response.

Thumbs up

I have been using it for a week now. I started with SPORT+ in the highest setting which is level 36, they say it is for racing and yeah it is, touch the gas pedal and the GX surges and slams gears. I have been in SPORT high so level 27 out of 36. Around town it is pretty sensitive and takes some time to get used to the aggressive pedal response and gear changes but I like it. I may back it down a level or 2 and at this level if you barely touch the pedal on the highway it slams into passing gear so it is not the best setting for higher speeds.

Bluetooth app works fine but I decided to install it with the buttons exposed as shown. No regrets with this purchase and I should have bought this a long time ago. With 36 settings and Bluetooth option to make the GX a fun truck to drive...Why not.

Thanks for update!! I'm gonna throw this on mine later this year. Was it like a 15 minute install?

Easily, drop the flimsy plastic cover under the drivers side dash (1 screw in the front) the connection is above the gas pedal and it is difficult to get the wiring harness clamp released with fingers so I used a small pair of channel-lock pliers to release it.

How exactly does this tie into the car, does it interface with the drive by wire or something?

would something like this potentially void a warranty?

Sorry I'm late to the party. If we are talking throttle controllers, consider the Apex I Throttle Controller which has 7 different modes. There is a harness for 2010-2013 cars where the whole install should be plug and play. If you search for it, a lot of guys have used it in some of the other CL sub forums.
One on eBay with correct harness; https://www.ebay.com/itm/Apexi-410-A...4AAOSwRgZTxZ6A
Install info from CL RC F forums; https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rc-...threads-5.html

Just another alternative to consider. I thought I read somewhere that there can be a long term detrimental effect on the throttle position sensor or some other throttle related component as the controller modifies the voltage for the desired response. If you read through all the CL threads, you should find everything you need.

No the 470 did not have more pickup than the 460. As discussed above, the 460 just feels slower because of the throttle mapping. And then the fact that it weighs about 600lbs more. But the added power makes up for that.

IMO the solution is to get used to putting your foot down further. From what I understand that's how all the newer Toyota/Lexus products behave. My experience in 2017-2018 4runner, highlander, rav4, Lexus ES was all the same. But it's nice to know that there's a good product out there if you don't want to. You can also slide the shifter over to sport mode but in my experience it's not that big a difference.

If you put your foot down you get all the power. My 2011 pulls hard, both on the interstate and from a dig.

I reset the fuel economy system when I installed the PC. Average in the past was 15.5 mpg and today is still the same. The PC doesn’t suck up more fuel, it only requires less push on the pedal to get you where you want to be with acceleration.

Before installation...When I was in light traffic I would switch to S mode and do the same when entering a highway. While at higher speeds on the highway I would also use S mode....
I haven’t thought about useing S mode since I installed this.
