Glad to hear. I hope this is an isolated case of a bad unit.
The super lag issue was a bit scary as it happened when I almost on the ramp to merge into the freeway.

@BBQ - This happened to me twice when I first got the unit but I noticed it was only happening when I attempted to change settings while in motion. Almost like the unit gets confused. Now I make it a point to only change the settings while at a complete stop and I have not had a problem since.
@Forum - Has anyone else noticed some random rpm spiking with the unit on? This only happens to me when the unit is on and I come to a complete stop sitting in traffic or at a light. Normally while idling it is around 500/600rpm and just holds steady (with PC off) but (and only occasionally) when the unit is on the idle starts at 500/600 and then jumps up to 800 for a second or two; back to 500/600; then a few seconds later it repeats. This does not happen while driving at a normal speed on the highway; just at idle. I haven't had a chance to fully run some tests yet; just started noticing it while stuck in traffic earlier this week.

Yes, this was exactly what happened. I usually changed modes while in motion, especially when I was in ECO during commute traffic and it cleared up and I switched to Sport. I'm glad to know this could be "normal" behavior eventhough the system could be confused. I'll see if PC support say anything after they got the unit.
Regarding the RPM jump, I didn't really pay attention to it. I know that when the engine is cold, it jumps a bit. I'll keep an eye on this more often when I get the replacement.

Lexus Champion
My Benz 2015 ML550 has just about same size V8 as GX460(to be exact ~466) It is bi-turbo with mild boost. Puts out about 410 Hp, 430 ft-lbs torque. If I install modified chip it can go up to 600Hp.

BBQ - check out this video...I had found this while googling the first time I had the problem...what happened to this guy is how my Lexus was behaving but I did not get the check engine light. .In the comments of the video it is documented that changing while in motion was causing the issue. So I stopped changing modes while in motion and everything has been fine since.

I've always changed the mode while not actually on the accelerator. Sounds like that is why I haven't seen this.

I'm also curious as why it happened only when I used Bluetooth. Before I installed BT, I have the unit hanging out at the center console and changed it manually for almost 2 weeks. Maybe BT communication while in motion is causing the confusion.
I'll try to reproduce it with the new unit when I get it but will stick to changing when it's at stop.

Given the context of this post and the one you quoted, the is a huge difference in "chipping" a forced induction engine and one that is not. And chipping any will void the warranty if the manufacturer wants to void it.

Might be a closeout deal as I think they are phasing out the the non-BT models.

Have you received replacement PC? If so, noticing same symptoms?

I got the replacement more than a week ago and have been running it since. So far I haven’t experienced the same issues but I haven’t been aggressively changing modes either.
One thing I noticed is that the City mode is not as sensitive as the old
one. The old one was really jerky in City + mode and just a little tap will launch it. The newer one is more tame and less jerky and almosg like Sport mode.

Its very easy to make more HP with a FI engine, just program it for more boost. But most times the "chip" does not manage other parameters like water pump speed and the like. Dinan does this and thats why they match the OEM warranty. You can get an MHD flash for a BMW N54/N55 for ~$100 that adds close to 100 HP.
