GX engine

Cool story bro, this is a retired individual who worked for Lexus for over 40 years. I guess he could have made that up, but not quite sure what benefit that would have been for him? Compare a 4runner to gx compare a Camry to an ES. . .the quality control is different, but to each their own. Keep on keeping on.
(Hint: Lexus was founded 29 yeas ago...)

I have Both a 5th gen 4Runner and Gx460, I personally modified my 4Runner to include lifts, front and rear bumpers, service, etc... My wife drived the GX and although I love my 4Runner, driving the GX is a joy. I personally feel the 4Runner was done a disservice by not offering it with the 4.6L V-8.
That being said they have been some of the best vehicles I've owned. Yes both Based off of Prado 150 platform. Obviously GX460 carries a luxury that I think makes the difference in price well worth it. Sound deadening alone makes the driving experience extremely comfortable. I also wanted to mention that I don't quite believe the 1/10th -1/100th tolerances line. I feel this is a sales pitch. I have a friend who works for Toyota USA, QC division and his wife also works for Toyota Manufacturing. He told me that cost wise it costs the same amount of money to build a vehicle. "Corolla to Sequoia" (labor and production wise). Also during this conversation stated that Lexus runs their production lines slower than Toyota lines which increases costs producing probably 1/10th the vehicles in the same day. I suppose this makes human factor better in production for items that aren't automated.
