Deciding between "new" GX 460 and "used" LX 570
#16
In my mind, GXs all look same from 2014 to now and have same features, so no reason to buy new unless you want to be the only owner of the vehicle, or better yet hold off until the redesign comes out, granted it comes out sooner than later. Also as others mentioned, it depends on what you would like. LX is bigger and has a different feel compared to GX, so depends on what you like more.

Who cares about bad gas mileage when gas is $2 now. It will be cheap for the vast foreseeable future. We wanted a GX but are now leaning toward LX, used.
I'd rather have the 5.7 than the 4.6 and wouldn't mind the mileage penalty.

Here in So Cal, I can get it as low as $2.99/gal when I go onto Camp Pendleton Marine Base and fill up there. Otherwise it's about another .20 to .40 cents more in town.
I try to stay with Premium gas.
Quick survey:
How many actually use Premium vs the cheap stuff??
Any noticeable difference??

BTW I only use premium for my LS430, you can tell a difference if you use 89 or 87, sluggish.

But the OP can't afford a new $100k SUV, he's looking at a used one for around half the price.
I'm only half joking, but clearly budget is part of the conversation.
I normally pass right over fuel economy numbers as modern cars just tend to get amazing gas mileage, but 13 mpg did slow me up a bit. And if gas ever goes back up to what it was a few years ago, it's going to be more painful.

I drive a Yukon that gets 13mpg but I live so close to everything and never really put much mileage on it (or any of my cars), so I don't even notice.

For me, i was struggling with getting a USED Land Cruiser that is about 3 years old vs. a new GX. I used to off-road heavily but am not planning to do much now. I need a truck more nowadays for all-weather and going places for sight seeing (e.g. Colorado mountains). But at same time, i want some luxury.
We test drove both. Very nearly got the TLC but i went with 2019 GX Luxury with CRAWL because GX size is just about perfect (ease of parking and fit nicely in garage). And with Hurricane Harvey around here, i was hesitant with getting a used vehicle. I also got GX at $1900 under invoice. And my GX just came off the boat too...2 mi on odometer and still has factory protection stickers.

I was in the same debate, a 2016+ LX570 or 2014+ GX due to the updated design. We wanted the LX with the bigger motor but it wouldn't fit our budget as the cheapest 2016+ LX570 is about $60k. We than settled and got our 2015 GX460 Luxury for $33k with 60k this weekend. Maybe in 5-7 years, i'll buy the used 2016+ LX as the big brother to our newly addition.

I have both; they are both equally good for the price you pay for them, The Gx460 luxury is as good as the LX riding manners wise. The but if I had buy one of the other I would pick the LX.

I had an NX300 loaner with 400 miles on it the other day, great car but the 4cylinder engine was a complete deal breaker. I still hear that god-awful moan in my head, and there was noticeable turbo lag.
I'm an LS driver and wouldn't buy the new one if in the market bc there's no V8. I would settle for the cleanest '17 I could find, and even that V8 isn't as good as the one in my now old AF LS430.
