Just an observation... Cruise control requires 4th and above
There are some small communities I pass through to my cabin with some up and down grades outside of the residential area with 25-30MPH speed limits. Not sure why I never noticed this before but was over on sport side and realized you have to be in 4th or above to be in cruise control. It would cancel on mine if I dropped into 3rd. I'll probably find out this was a big bullet in the owner's manual now or a big discussion before my 460 years. :-)
I'm not using the CC in town but they have like 3/4-1 mile stretches on each side out of residential that I do.

It doesn’t but I do try to keep out of sport with Cruise on with hilly terrain not towing as it seems to be too eager to drop 2 gears when taking a velocity hit with a hill or slope with a heavy throttle. More than likely to have a passenger asking is everything ok
