There were a few reasons I did not go with the KO2. E-Rated - I do not need that many plys - The weight and the ride quality that go along with E-rated IF you are not loaded up al the time, I was not a big fan the first time due to the heavy rains here in FL, I went with the Nitto Ridge Grappler. I think it is a better suited tire for my mostly on road use and light trail riding. So far I really like it. Noise is barely louder than stock tires.

I am on 2nd pair of KO2's (one pair on GX one pair on 4Runner) and happy with them. they are aggressive tread and heavier tire but have worked well for regular driving and light off-roading.
another option, I had the Hankook dynapros at one point. got nearly 70k miles out of those, I really liked them but they were not offered in right E load to support my camping needs.

disagree on this. I tried them on my 4Runner and barely got 40k miles out of them

BF Goodrch KO2's on GX460 please share experiences
What is your experience with the KO2's on GX 460 ? I am seriously considering replacing my Bridgestonve OEM's.
Do KO2s produce a mushy ride? Do they pancake?
What pressure are you running KO2's? Any significant impact to mpg?
I had Falken Wildpeaks AT3s before. They did the job but were too soft at the Falken's recommended 34 psi. I ended up going higher to 40 psi cold but was always concerned whether the tires would explode.
Sincerely appreciate the feedback.

Well, I guess that i will answer my own question (next week)............i just bought BFG KO2 in stock size (265/60/18) today from Discount Tire. DT gave me $18 off per tire from online price ($190 from listed price $208) AND 10% off final price via gift card (before tax).
Total for 4 tires including install fee/etc. = $851 (before tax). In addition i will be getting a gift card worth $85.10 (10% of $851). So, end price after rebate for 4 x BFG KO2 is $765.90 (not including tax). I will keep my stock Bridgestone Dueler HT spare where it is.
I will have it installed next week. Stock size is not in stock...so have to wait for them to come in.

Oh wow...i went on BFG website...and filled out their promotion...$70 gift card for KO2! So, in addition to getting $18 off per tire, i will be getting TWO gift cards...one from Discount for $85.10 and one from BFG for $70. TOTAL savings today: $227.10.
So, before tax, BFG KO2 costs $173.98 per tire (includes install fees etc.). Without install fees and without tax, BFG KO2 costs $151.23 per tire after rebates and discount.

2017 GX base stock—-Falken Wildpeak AT3w vs BFG KO2 Tire
I have 2017 base stock GX and I want to upgrade the tires on it. I live in the Pacific Northwest where it rains a lot. I do hit the mountains and ski every season so I’m in snow a bit. Falken Wildpeak AT3w vs BFG KO2 Tires?

Everyone will have a different opinion on tires. My vote is for the Wildpeaks. I've read that Ko2 tires aren't the best in rain. I don't have hard evidence to back it up, but that might be something you want to look into some more.

The ko2 is a purpose designed offroad tire, nothing about its design screams great for pavement handling.
Figure out what terra firm you drive in most abs buy the tire for that application....
I love the look of AT tires but at the end of the day I know the Michelin LT M/S will more than handle any offroad scenario I feel comfortable driving so that's my next tire.

I had the KO2's on 2 crew cab pick ups. They were terrible in rain but okay in snow.
I now have Toyo AT3's on the GX and absolutely love them. They did great in several downpours on our recent trip to TN from NJ and back, and are snowflake rated. They are LT 275 65 18's with a Dobinson suspension and SPC UCA's.
