Yes, makes perfect sense to me. Happened to me few times so that I turn it off when driving inser freezing rain. The BSM also go crazy in this condition as well

In the Vehicle -> Lexus Park Assist setting in the menu, the "Display off" remains display off when selected and unselected, but a small bright spot appears on the left button when toggled. Is this the right behaviour and what is it supposed ti actually do? Does it just control the light on the dash?

So we've gone through Noah's flooding rains here in Eastern PA. During other long periods of rain my "Check Surrounding" alert comes on when I come under 5 mph (and I don't have to be close to vehicles). Anyone else experience this problem or could it be a faulty sensor during harsh rains? It does not happen in a car wash but only when driving during steady rains. There are not any leaves or foreign objects stuck to any of the sensors either. TIA.
I saw that happen to me one time about a month ago after going through a touch-less carwash. It went away pretty quick though... I've never checked to see if Techstream or OBD Fusion can identify specific sensors which are malfunctioning or are active. I'll have to plug in and see what info that module gives up to those programs.
I've never had mine go off in rain, or inside of a touchless car wash, but I've had them activate when I was next in line at a car wash and the wind was carrying some of the spray back toward the front of my car. It's typically brief and stops reacting within a couple of seconds.
Went to drive the GX last night and the park assist was beeping, got out checked around the front where the indicator showed something.....nothing.
Turned it off and then back on, same thing in same location, front right.
We have had lots of rain lately, would moisture cause this?
Any suggestion on how to fix?

Check the sensor connector for which indicated. You should be able to access the connector either from the bottom of the bumper or from the engine compartment by removing the front plastic cover. If the water cause the short circuit on the connector, would cause the beep, also could be a malfunction sensor itself. By discounting that sensor should help you determine if it’s the sensor or connector related issue.

The sensors tend to do that causing false alarm when moisture level is high. Some times right after car wsh, etc. I experienced this on Audi and Mercedes cars.

That didn't sound normal to have sensor activated due to moisture. I went through car washing and even heavy rains, the only time it will given false alarm would be in snow days and you have the snow and/or ice built up on the surface of sensors. Harnesses for the sensor should have enough seal to prevent water to causing short. If this happens regularly, I will definitely check those harnesses to fix those ones may have the leaks. Some time the orientation of the harnesses and location could mede it more easier to be affected by captured water residue, a simple rotate and re-secure it may improve to avoid unnecessary water affect.
