Switching from an LR4
Have been driving an LR4 for five years (the 2013 model with the V8) and it's just over the 100K miles point and having issues. Been expensive to fix. So Tuesday I'm picking up a 2018 GX to replace it.
I have some trepidation. I actually like the LR4 because of its flip up second row seats -- makes it so easy to load the two golden retrievers in the back. The Discovery that replaced the LR4 lost this feature and it's a tight fit to get them back there. And that car looks a bit bland compared to the LR4. Looked at the GLS since it has the flip seats, but huge price difference and the dealer wasn't haggling. Almost settled on a three row X5 but the dogs seemed tight in the back.
(Most of the salespeople think I'm nuts when I mention how it's important to get the right vehicle for the dogs.)
Hoping I've made the right decision. Any other former LR4 owners here?

Dogs
I had an LR3 for many years that also became expensive to fix but had , I believe, the same drop down seats as the LR4 - being able to make the entire space behind the drivers seat completely flat was a great feature. I found the GX to be the closest vehicle to the LR in terms of access, seating and overall handling. It’s a tab better on fuel (though not by much) and tows about the same. Hoping it will stand the test of time better than the LR did. I also put dogs in the back , recccomend the two piece OEM all weather cargo mat for the back.

Thanks, good to know I'm not the only one. Have yet to tell my 19-year-old that she won't be able to drive my new car, she won't be too happy about that! (Surely I can't be the only parent who has this rule.)
I see though that there is no USB port for the second row. Is there still least a 12V outlet?
