Buying a GX460 with 80-100k mile
Hi Lexus Gurus,
I am new in this platform. I am researching to buy a Lexus GX460 with financial availability around 20-25k$.
With this amount, I can buy 2010-2013 with minimum 70-80k mile on it. If I go down on mileage price goes up. My question is how reliable to buy a GX460 with that mileage (80-100k mile).
I have been researching that Lexus GX is known for reliability and quality. I highly appreciate if anyone can share their experience and knowledge on this.

Got my 2012 Premium last year with 103K on it. It's now at 113K, no issues other than the airbag recall and the secondary air system failure which was covered under warranty. Did a basic tune up... all the drive train fluids, filters, and spark plugs. I expect to have years of trouble free service and wouldn't hesitate to purchase one with 100k or more on it as long as the price is right.

+1 on Romanova post, minus spark plugs replaced and I am due for this. Bought my 2011 with I think 38k miles and now 120k miles with no additional cost outside of standard maintenance.

Hi. I'm new to the forum but just purchased a 2013 Lexus with right at 100,000 miles within the same price range you're looking at. I looked at and test drove 4 or 5 different 460s and 470s before purchasing the one I bought. What gave me confidence in buying the specific one i bought were the following:
1. I don't know if this is true for other cars but when a Lexus is taken for service to a Lexus dealership, the date, mileage and work performed is recorded in a registry. This information is then available in a Carfax report. For the car I bought, I could see that the vehicle had been taken in to a Lexus dealership for maintenance at every recommended mileage point (5000, 10,000, 20,000 miles etc, all the way to 90,000) and could see exactly when every oil change, tire rotation, brake replacement, etc) was done. So I knew the car was meticulously maintained. The body and interior were similarly spotless.
2. I bought the Lexus from a large Lexus dealership in the Orlando area. I was confident that they had checked the car out and weren't selling me a lemon.
There was another 2013 Lexus available at the time with half the miles for a little more money but without the detailed Carfax records and it was being sold by a tiny car sales place (not a dealership of any type) that probably bought the car at auction or wholesale. That other car might have been fine too but without the maintenance records and because I didn't have the confidence in the small car seller having done as complete an inspection, I bought the car with higher mileage.
So far, my car has been awesome. Will use it as a daily driver, to pull a small flats boat, and probably at some point a small travel trailer.
Also, I had to drive several hours each way from my small town to larger nearby cities to find the right car. It was worth the effort to keep looking until the right one came along.
Hope this helps and good luck with your search.
