Where did you order the wrap from?

Wow, is it a one owner car? I'm curious if they were in contact with some sort of chemical that may have caused this. My 2010 chrome is like new and I have other cars with chromes that never saw flaking like this.

My 2010 with 63k looks similar although not quite that bad. Vinyl wrap might be a good option.

Yeah, the previous owner purchased the car in Guam and had it shipped over when he moved back to the states. He said it was just from the sun (Guam is near the equator.) But, I'm in Texas and we have some serious sun and heat here as well and none of my chrome is like that.

It is the only part of the car with anything like that. Other chrome pieces on the side mirrors, etc... are just fine. It looks like maybe someone hit it one too many times with a buffer or something, or chemical like you said. I have no clue!

This gives you an idea of what I am doing. I still have quite a few more things to wrap and I’m waiting on the kit to come for the wheels which I am doing in the same color.

This looks pretty good. Do you have a picture of the driver door handle with the keyhole? I also wrapped my handles but not happy with how the driver door came out. I spent about 30m for each handle.

Default Touch sensitive handle losing sensitivity

My 2012 seems to be losing sensitivity on the drivers side touch sensitive door handle. I can get it to eventually lock by trying it over and over again but it’s definitely losing sensitivity it had a couple years ago and I don’t have the problem on the passenger side.

Anyone else experience this?

looking to see if there was any workarounds before I look into replacing the handle...

TIA

Have you try to touch the both sides at sometime for locking?

Even though working fine on passenger side how old is the battery in the FOB? Same behavior with your other FOB?

I looked at a silver 2012 yesterday that had this exact same thing on all 4 door handles. None of the other chrome pieces had this problem. It spent its entire life in Miami before being purchased by a dealership here in Nashville. I have a feeling the sun is the culprit because the rear spoiler is faded,

Funny you mentioned this. I just spend 30 min compound and polish the top of my rear spoiler - Tungsten Pearl. It was dull and some sort oxidize too. Looks like the clear coat was almost gone. Even with compound and wax, it still isn't that shiny. It's a CA car all its life but only the spoiler has this issue, the roof is fine.
I'm curious if because it is plastic and tends to oxidize faster than when paint on metal.
