Default 2011 premium

Just purchase 2011 460 premium, Florida car. Has both door handle and rear spoiler issue present. Only both front door handles, back seem to be fine, and the tailgate spoiler has faded badly compared to rest of immaculate paint.

My 4Runner was pretty bad, I ended up using these:

When I decide to tear the doors apart again, I'll swap out to color matched handles.

Looks like these would be a good alternative for the GX:

Did you have to remove the door handles to do this? Wonder how chrome vinyl would look?

I ordered the ones for the GX--but they sure didn't fit well... and the adhesive was not engaged very well, they'd probably have blown off riding down the road! I returned them.

Default Cracked Door handle

I've been on this site and ihatemud for over 2 years and never remember seeing this type of failure. My 9 y.o. tells me she broke the rear passenger door handle on my 2010 GX. I went to take a look and she was right. I mean the car has been baking in the southern sun for 10 yrs. It looks like a pretty straight forward fix from the Techdoc repair manual although you do have to remove the interior door panel. FYI, superglue will not hold this together. I'll price out me doing it and get a quote and see where we land.

That is odd and I also do not recall seeing that here. Not sure about your theory of it baking in the Georgia sun being the cause though.

My seven-year-old son broke both rear door handles. It seems to be a common issue. My car is about the same age as yours. You have to remove the interior panel to replace the door handle. There’s a special Tork screw that you have to remove to release the door handle from the inside. Superglue won’t hold it.

If you put pressure in a downward direction, the handles will snap just like the picture shown (it's not designed to be pulled vertically, horizontally only)...
(a small child pulling it more down than out with all their weight and/ or using the running board for leverage can easily do this... it's plastic)
Automotive goop would hold that together for normal use if properly prepped and allowed to cure... stuff is amazing, $6 at most auto stores (essential business and open)

You should be able to source a handle from eBay and process of replace it is pretty simple and straight forward. three screws to remove (two for the lock, one for holding the little piece of handle. The biggest part is the take the inner door panel off, which is one screw behind inner door release handle and all the plastic clips around, and disconnect the speaker wires.

So since its just the handle portion and not the other small piece pricing on Leuxspartsnow.com is around $95. I'll check the junkyard network but the odds of having a 10-13 in my color that is relatively close is pretty slim. Certainly hoping to stay below $200 if I paid someone to do it.

Jaleels, by special torx screw do you mean a non standard sized one, or just torx in general?
