I am in a Ford Edge rental this week. With no spare on my GX I would really like to see this on my dash. Yeah, I chose to lose the spare but still this lack of information on the new GX

My 2016 RX 350 has this information! I'm guessing they did not want to have to update the display to support this simple feature that exists in many common vehicles like the rental you are in!

Now I know my spare is ID 2 lol

Cool.. Good to hear it works for you too!! :-)
Yeah.. it is one of the bigger units...about the same size as my older ELM327.

I use those on another vehicle but they are kind of a pain to use if you need to adjust the air. Using the onboard tech it would be advantageous to those that go off-road and air down/up their tires often as well.

I am going to ask Fusion developer but also sent an inquiry to Carista developer as well on ability to reprogram TPMS. They have an account here but it doesn't accept PMs. While I use Techstream some may feel more comfortable using something like Carista if they are swapping summer/winter tires with different TPMS sensors.
EDIT: Carista says - "Yes, that's correct. We've released the TPMS ID registration for Toyota/Lexus last week. If your car supports it, you should be able to register your new IDs. "

Thanks for checking with Fusion dev. Hope they are willing to add more functions to it. I don't mind paying extra to download a new version if they add more useful stuffs. Carista is nice but I wish they have a one time fee instead of yearly.

Tpms
I'm new to forum so sorry if this has been covered already. The TPMS light came on. Checked all tires. Pressure ok and no nails or anything else in tires. Took to dealer (still under warranty) and it was the spare. Found out the spare has a sensor as well. Didn't think to check that. The TPMS light doesn't indicate which tire. My 2013 entry level Mercedes shows each tire. Lexus does not. For such an expensive vehicle the technology is so yesterday.

Lexus in general is slow to adopt new technology in their vehicles. Unfortunately the GX has not seen a redesign in quite some time so a lot of the tech in the car will indeed be older as well.
Having said that, if I wanted the tech, I'd have gone with a Tesla! Hard to beat Lexus ride + reliability though.

Bringing this thread back...
So after seeing option in OBD Fusion to read TPMS and not being able to read it I reached out to support of OBD Fusion.
Here is why, what is needed and what I ordered:
[Me]
"I am curious if there is any chance TPMS support is possible to add-on for a Lexus GX 460. I have a 2012. I can read the sensor data fine with Techstream. Fusion can’t seem to communicate with the TPMS module even with ’12 Add-on. Others on forums report the same behavior. As this vehicle just has the idiot light it would be great to pull tire pressure through the app."
[Support]
"Thanks for reaching out to us! Which adapter are you using? The TPMS modules uses a protocol that not all generic ELM327 adapters can access. An ELM327 adapter that supports the genuine ELM v2.0 or newer command set is required to access that module."
[Me]
"Good to know. I’ll search for a 2.0 model."
[Support]
"You’re welcome! Just be aware that most of the non-genuine ELM adapters will advertise a version that really isn’t 2.0 or later. An adapter that uses the genuine ELM chip would be the best option."
[Me]
"Thanks! Looks like I will need to put money forth for the real deal. Any known adapters you can recommend? Talk about a tough search to find a good one... :"

"This company sells one, but they are not located in the US: https://elm-327.eu/elm_wifi
We are working with the OBDLink manufacturer to get them to update their adapters for ELM v.2.0 support. Their adapters are firmware upgradable and hopefully they will have an update soon."
Basically all the cheap ones don't do 2.0 even if they say it. I ordered the one above shipped from Romania for around $65. I'll post back if this works or not.
