Nope. Just the uhaul tow plug into oem. And phone through the usb charge. But that phone kept in hasn't been an issue.
Did I need to inflate the spare? or was the load too much and the tpms just reading it low? I verified cold the next morning that tire pressures were good so I was going to take it in but it hasn't popped up after I removed trailer.
Can you guys recommend how to determine the TMPS fault? I have the light on but all 4 tires are over 34 PSI. Our spare tire is not included in this fault yes? My bluetooth code reader is not detecting the error but the dash light is staying illuminated.
Are you using something like OBD Link or Fusion with a Toyota/Lexus expansion pack?
You have to connect to the TPMS network (Prompt at connect time) with OBD Link/Fusion to obtain codes with that ECU.
I did not check the spare as I thought only the tires mounted would set off the pressure light. Probably the culprit. I knew it had a sensor but I guess I thought it was not monitoring while not mounted. DOH....
I am using Car Scanner ELM application as was having some issues with some of the others. When I got it and was diagnosing my bad wheel speed sensor. It says it sees the TPMS module when doing the full scan no codes. I will try your recommendation.
It actually seems like a very good application. It did the job when I had my previous issue and gave me a lot of info from other modules. Yes, it does have live data but maybe Toyota is not supported on TPMS. I did not buy the pro version. The application rating was much better than the most.
It could be the pro version of that product that helps but no idea... I don't have any experience with that one. OBD/Fusion link will show you how many PIDs can be obtained from each ECU. KDSS is one ECU I can't obtain PIDs from OBD Link and have to use Techstream. If spare checks out you may need to look at other diagnostic options.
This is on a 2012 base model GX.
Ok, first up, my TPMS warning came on last week (tires lost pressure due to the cold weather). Pumped the tires back up, but couldn't figure out how to reset the warning light. The instructions I found online didn't make any sense. Anyway, I drove on to the tennis courts, played a couple of hours, and when I cranked my truck back up, the light was gone. Does a 2012 model not need to be reset?
Next question is about my radio system. Just now on the way home, my audio controls got very sluggish and wonky. Changing radio channels or modes has always been slow in this truck, but they were reacting really slowly to my inputs. Turned the radio off, then on again, and it fixed that, but then my volume buttons started acting as "tuning" buttons - when I pushed the up volume button, my radio station frequency went from 98.5 to 98.7, 98.9, etc. Turned radio off/on again, and it quit acting up. Any ideas on this? Thanks!
I've had interference from a ARB cooler and it is only when that is plugged in back in cargo area that my light comes on once and a while. Codes show a communication disconnect.
