Yes, I have done the above several times.
However, I did notice that the tire pressure warning light DOES NOT blink when I did the calibration process. I held the button for a good while too.
I added this... for whatever reason that elbow piece on mine had some obstruction and wouldn't pass air pressure properly... just hooked up the air hose and that will work well enough for me. For the price wasn't gonna bother with an exchange.

Yes, just follow the "Initializing the tire pressure warning system" instruction in the owners manual (page 473 in my manual)
I never noticed this nugget of info in it:
When the tire pressure warning system is initialized, the current tire inflation pressure is set as the benchmark pressure.
I bet it happened because they moved the spare to the passenger rear but didn’t drop the pressure from 45PSI so I lowered it down to 37PSI but it was only after I reset the TPWS as they didn’t reset that either so the tire locations were all messed up. Since it thought the normal pressure was 45PSI it tripped at 34PSI.

I’ve had it with the local tire store after todays fiasco with getting a spare fixed on the wife’s RAV4 and refuse to take a vehicle back there. They also said the 2 y/o OEM sensor in the spare wasn’t working so they replaced it with a generic sensor which I’m not thrilled with.
Since the Lexus dealership couldn’t manage a 5-tire rotation either I will start doing these things myself.
What’s the best option out there for OEM Toyota/Lexus sensors so that I can activate a new sensor to the vehicle as well as change positions?
I need to be able to activate/assign a new OEM sensor as the RAV4 only accepts 4 of them and I have a full size spare with sensor in it so I’ll have to do this every rotation unlike the GX which accepts 5 sensors.
Would the Autel TS508 be a good option or would I need something else?
2022 GX 460 and a 2019 RAV4 are the vehicles in question.
Check your manual on TPMS Registering ID codes, I didn't need anything to change over my winter to summer tires, Just followed the register ID codes (page 475 in my 2021 manual) and then "How to initialize the tire pressure warning system" (page 474) No special tools required

That’ll work for the GX but not the RAV4.
I don’t think I can test a sensor without a tool though that I can think of?
I use techstream to program the car to my different sensors. i have a notepad file with the sensor ids in it so i don't need to check all the time.
the stupid place I got my second set of wheels from couldn't tell me the IDs for my new sensors so I ended up buying an Autel TS401 to read my sensors and give me basic readings. I use it now to check my tire pressure without depending on the light.
