You also have to remember that Lexus/Toyota have been using this system for many years with very few problem and it keeps the cost down. The Japanese manufactures tend to use KISS theory.

Ouch, well everybody is entitled to their opinions but I will say I've been buying Fleet Lexus vehicles for the company I work through directly from Toyota Motor Corp in California since 2003 and I have personally owned all Chevy vehicles since 1999 and still have a Corvette and I can say I have never broken down in my Chevy's yet. I drive them to 150k then sell them. The Lexus vehicles I have purchased for my company have been great vehicles as well but comparing the costs of maintenance of them compared to my Chevy, wow, price shock!

This is in no way a Lexus bashing post, it's my reply to andreys post about a reliable vehicle. I really like and enjoy my Lexus and hopefully it will serve me as well as my Chevy's have and still do service me.

I was a die hard GM guy for many years (before Toyota) and I have broke down, not often but have. What I can say is I have replaced just about every part in these GM vehicles to keep them going after 100K miles. Now on the other hand, I've had Toyota vehicles for will over 100K miles and only had to replace normal wear parts. Just saying!

Default Tire pressure

Hey the tire pressure light is on, but my tire pressure is 32psi. What can be the problem?

most likely your spare tire. Take it to the dealer and they will inflate it for you as it's a big pain to lower it and inflate it.

You may want to do it yourself so that if you get a flat in the middle of the night, you know how to get to the spare. It is not that difficult.

BTW - When you do put air in the spare, make sure you put the max allowable.

When I have my oil changed, I have them check the spare. You can even crawl under there and air it up...

Default Tire Pressure Warning Indicator Light

So, the indicator light is on because of the cold morning. All four tires are a few pounds low and I correct.

Back inside the vehicle, the indicator is still on! I get out to check the spare but, cannot because the valve stem is on top! And, my shirt is all dirty!

At home, I lower the spare and check/add air. Raise spare, put tools away. Now I know how to lower the spare.

What a hassle! Our basic Chevy vans at work let you know tire pressure in each of their four tires.

I totally agree, the GM TPMS is much much better than the Lexus TPMS. a 25K Malibu will tell you how much pressure each tire has, Lexus leaves you to figure it out on your own.

It's not on my 2010 GS and I don't think it was on my 2008 LS but I sold it so I can't be totally sure on that one.
