Yeah ... unfortunate this can't be end user reset. If I can find a shop to do it cheaply I'll go that route...otherwise I'll stare at the TPMS light for 4 months out of the year. I tend to be OC about tire pressure and generally check once a week anyway.
It's too bad these units require their own cap or internal hard coded TPMS sensors to work. I have the codes for my current tires and would be nice to install one in an unsued cutout on dash. I'd like a more real time status than plugging in the Techstream. I don't mind manually checking my air pressure but it's a shame this data wasn't included for easy viewing in the infotainment of the GX.
I am on the latest infotainment rev for the ‘10-‘13 models. Fairly sure this info doesnt show up on ‘14+ either. I may need to look into some OBD based options as well.

I don't consider 3 seconds as real time but not bad.
I think it is something like every 1-3 minutes. Nothing conclusive in FSM but there are some programming entries that talk about there being an issue if time exceeds 3 minutes.
There is a brand called ORO. A Taiwan manufacture. They claim it can read tire pressure from OBD, no sensors required for most models and looks the same as this one. But sadly they're not selling in the states.
That's the product I was talking about. It's all in Chinese though. Asian companies usually sell their products on Taobao a Chinese eBay. That's why they usually have *****y website.
I read through but couldn't find any information related to frequency. They say there are different models for Toyota Lexus Nissan and Honda. I am not sure if they work on American models but I believe they will work since most Lexus are made in Japan and have same parts but don't quote me on that. I am still waiting for more information myself.
About 3-4 years ago I found an oem unit listed on *Australia* Toyota website. It is tiny and works with existing oem sensors. Since Toyota/Lexus use the same frequency I suspect it'll work just fine for the GX. I brought the picture to a Toyota dealer here in California but they know nothing about it. I asked a friend in Sydney to come to a dealership there: they have it, for $200 or so. Too bad for the life of me I couldn't find it now, maybe they no longer sell it.
