Lightbulb Fuel Filter Replacement

I didn't realize the fuel filter was in the engine bay on this rig. I thought they were relying on sock in the tank. That is good to know.

What is the factory recommended service interval for the fuel filter?

Not sure on interval but now I have some conflicting info between 10-13 FSM and 14+ FSM. '14+ shows your typical filter these days integrated with fuel pump in-tank on the bottom.

I need to conform whether I actually have one or not. It is under that cover area where the master cylinder is located if the instructions in my initial post are correct. If it isn't it may be something put in GXs for other markets as that FSM is specifically for 460s in Russia/Ukrainian/European market. Perhaps more easily serviceable with questionable fuel quality? I notice GXs in these markets are rated down to 292HP as well.

This is interesting... here is schematic for fuel system in a Russian and related area GX

https://www.megazip.net/zapchasti-dl...ystem-17917459

Fuel filter shows up as PN: 23300J on pic

Versus North American GX where it isn't present.

My local dealer told me the fuel filter on my 2013 GX is part of the fuel pump, not located under the hood, and isn't replaceable independent of the pump assembly. Are they wrong?

That appears to be correct for North America but not so in other markets.

Other markets may have both.

Default Fuel Filter location?

Hey guys, just wanted to know if there is a fuel filter in the GX? I have a 2012, and wanted to make sure everything is working as it should. Thanks!

North American models just have the sock off the fuel pump in tank.. other markets have one in the engine bay.

I didn't want to side-track the AT cooler thread but here is another area where not in North American models. Like I stated before perhaps due to questionable fuel quality in various parts of the world?

Here in Saudi Arabia we have this secondary filter, but our fuel quality is I think better than anywhere else, and it's subjective, I dont think thats the reason why they put it

Looks like he dropped the tank to replace the fuel pump from a clogged fuel pump filter
