If this center console does actually work and performs what it is promising to do, it would be a huge deal and I would not worry too much about price. I like most thing about my GX except the dated dash board. It seems too good to be true for this tablet to work seamlessly with GX's components as it is a retrofit and its not like those chinese manufacturers have an R&D team dedicated for GX. Also, this would also be a pain if the console does not work well and you want to change back to the original parts. I want to be hopeful.

What the developer should do is have a small lithium battery build into the unit. It charges when the car is on and keep the unit in sleep mode when the car is off. This will solve the startup delay.

 

I wonder if the 3-zone HVAC settings are still available? Perhaps in a submenu?

 

There are many questions, especially given it is relatively new products. They are saying the unit will be available for testing late this month, will definitely drill into details. They claimed the prototype they were displaying is installed on a "High End" GX460 with fully integration of OEM functions. Whatever that supposed to mean is unknown. Previous member about internal battery for keep the unit in sleep mode for quick startup is a great idea. I will mention that to them to see if there has been any consideration on startup delay issue and consideration.

 

here is my dilemma ,... i had posted a thread about this item about 2 months ago i think. Quickly found out that the one's on the market right now are fairly slow to load and lag as per video posted. They need to add a good amount of memory and
2 gig will just not do it
But my main concern is and i know the more we advance, technologies get better and cheaper blabla.... how will this keep up with our Canadian or any cold winters where it get's -30C or like last winter some days -40C.
how about the hot Texas summers??? Will it lag or not even turn on . hopefully we can get more insight about the specs. Like many Chinese products , people think they are all crap and don't last, but actually some Chinese products can be very well made to last is this one of those companies or not .

I would love to have this in my truck but I also do not want to be stuck on a cold day not be able to turn my heater on lol. I would love to see prove of test they have performed.

Not really in production yet. Also, it is only been tried on Asia spec GX. I have in contact with them to get some test unit for trying on US spec GX, so far, still waiting for them to get production unit ready. Currently expected by the end of this month, but I won't hold my breath on that schedule.

 

Yea, I'd like to see the Nav, Bluetooth, Phone and Climate controls working.

Maybe you could ask the maker to do a video showing different functionality?

 

Here is the newest video they had it test on GX two days ago. I have charted with them, and confirmed the system do handle three-zone climate control, as well as using all OEM harnesses there is no wires cutting or tappings. I am still working on some testing units and terms and will keep everyone posted. The testing GX they were showing also consisted with Driver Support Package (as most of Asia spec GXs have come with).

 

Once proven functional here, I will get one also.

How does it play DVD's from discs or from files?
