Water mud debris shield for fog light area
Do any of you have shields or other protection for the area between in front of the wheel and frame where things can get up into the fog light area? I haven't seen anything available, besides maybe some major skid plates, made for this area. I've had fans suck in water into my lights, bugs get sucked into them, internal corrosion from splashes, etc. I've even found small rocks up in there from time to time.
Here's where I'm talking about. I made these from thin plastic shelf liners and a cable tie to that threaded spot.
If there's something better for this purpose I'd be interested to check it out.

I haven't noticed in my fog light area but I am running the Morimoto LEDs w/o fans for fogs as well.

Resurrecting this thread as I've been poking around my new GX and also noticed a significant buildup (given the mileage) of dirt/sand/salt in front of the passenger wheel. The driver's side is much cleaner due to the liner not having the slots which allow crap to sling off the wheel and cover everything - anyone understand why this is designed as such? Aside from the washer reservoir and pump, I didn't note any additional electronics on the passenger side that would require cooling. I'd like to cover this to keep corrosive salt spray away from everything.
Also on the subject of splash protection, Yota liners (and another brand) seem to be popular on this forum. Some of the 4runner folks use larger liners that cover everything around the shock tower, which I would prefer. Again, life in Canada.. salt is terrible. Does anyone have experience with these on the GX?

I removed my inner fender liners this past year and cleaned all these connectors then coated dielectric grease all over the turn signal and foglight connector backsides and the mating interface, not that actual contact surface.

I intend on buying those larger splash shields in a few months so I'll keep everyone posted.

I learned this lesson the hard way swearing to myself for hours while trying to replace the inner fender liner this past year on the passenger side. the tabs I used are linked in the maintenance sticky thread here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/gx-...tallation.html

I've always assumed that these slots in the fender liner were for the engine air intake which is under that quarter panel.
I've been considering putting some kind of diverter in there to create an additional obstacle to water splashing up there when wading at speed.
