bbqsoup: Looking at GBS documentation it states those activations are 20 seconds versus 60 seconds for non-GBS alarms.

Did it seem like it was around 20 seconds?

Never let it go since I only notice it in the middle of the night. If it goes off again today I'll let it run and time it.

Just went off again. Definitely less than 20 seconds. Was around 10ish. I'm going to pull the mic.

Please keep everyone posted how it goes. If that works dealership can adjust the microphone sensitivity for you.

Will do. So far so good.

If the clear protectant wrap on my driver side mirror wasn't bubbling off I'd just keep the mic disconnected, but since I have to go i might as well have them drop the sensitivity.

On another note - when I pull into my driveway and come to a stop in drive, then feather the gas to creep up, the GX starts to stutter and click. I think something lights up on instrument panel. Is there some sort of up hill protection setting that thinks I'm in danger due to odd operating angle/pitch?

Sounds like the Hill Start Assist Control. You will get some lights and ABS clicking if active

If they do adjust GBS microphone sensitivity.. please try to find out what level it was set at and what level they moved it too.

Thanks!

Yes it is shorter, probably around or less than 20sec.

Went through the night without the alarm sounding. Although, I jumped up at around 2:45am out of habit thinking the alarm was going off. PTSD I guess.

I'll report back on the dealerships setting on Tuesday.

Good to hear you mostly got some sleep.

I haven't played around with this for years. I'm gonna play around some more this week to find the absolute minimal for detection.

Not sure what "minimal for detection" is with the sensor being under the passenger dash. If the sensor was in the center overhead area it would make it easier to calibrate.

I'm just wondering if I can scale back GBS sensor to 6 or 7 setting instead of 8 and still get reasonable detection. Heck... for all I know it has vibrated toward a more aggressive setting over the years from mild off-road use. I plan to recheck setting on Tuesday.

EDIT: I'm not sure of reasonable/minimal myself short of breaking a window :-)

So my alarm went off twice last night at 1am something then again after 2am haha.
I checked this morning and one of the keyfob battery is low so I’m going to replace it (or even both just in case).
I also readjusted the GBS down to 7 which was the default level from Lexus, I upped it to 8 previously.

Heck...I had mine at like 9.5 or 10 so lowered to 7 and it still goes off but does take more tapping of glass which I am fine with.
