Thanks, I'll definitely add that to the to-do list!

I would get the transmission up to temp range and open the overflow valve to make sure you have sufficient ATF in the tranny.

Default Any help on these 4 check engine light codes?

I got these for codes on my 460. I believe they’re related to the secondary air injection pump. I had it replaced about three years ago. I think it’s going bad again. The codes are C1201 and P1604, I think these are related to the secondary injection pump. The other two codes are transmission related, P0761 and P2714. These could be related to the air injection pump issue because the vehicle is now in limp mode. I’m taking the vehicle to the dealership and I wanted to have some information on my end before they tell me some outrageous story about what I need to fix.

First off, don't even waste your time with a dealership. Just find any reputable mechanic in your area and go there instead.

In regards to your two transmission codes, you need to get the car to a transmission shop as soon as possible and have them drop the pan filter, replace that, replace the faulty shift solenoids and then add in fresh fluid.

You might also need to have the valvebody rebuilt. But I would highly recommend not to waste your time with anything but a transmission shop (or a mechanic that knows how to work on a transmission)

As for your other two codes, sounds like a bad ECM.

Default 2014 GX 460 Transmission failed at 37500 miles?

Hi, I am new here. Just like everyone else here, i am super in love with GX 460. I have put down deposit for a used 2014 GX 460 premium at 50k miles at a local Lexus dealer. Carfax is clean. However when i went to check the service history of this truck on Lexus Drivers, I found it had its transmission replaced with a re-manufactured one at 37500 miles. It was done by another Lexus dealer. (see below quote from service history)

SERVICE: SPECIAL SERVICE CAMPAIGN
DESCRIPTION: SPECIAL SERVICE CAMPAIGN ~|~CUSTOMER STATES VEHICLE WILL NOT GO INTO REVERSE - CHECK AND ADVISE ~|~INSPECTION FOUND CODE P0705 / TRANSMISSION RANGE SENSOR CIRCUIT PRNDL INPUT / NO REVERSE ~|~PERFORMED REMOVE AND REPLACE REMAN TRANSMISSION / REPLACE NEUTRAL SWITCH ASSY

I have zero mechanic knowledge, would someone advise me if this is a bad sign? because in my impression, Lexus transmission is super reliable, and shouldn't fail at this low mileage stage??

I would personally pass on this one, unless it's a great deal that comes with CPO warranty and clean interior.

Everything fails at some point but I'd rather have a better unit for a piece of mind.

What??? How is replacing transmission by lexus dealer is a bad sign? Lol

I don't know what you guys thinking but I would still consider and buy that car. At least I know I have "new" transmission at 37k that is good to run for another 300k !

I am newbie. but is re-manufactured transmission inferior compared to a brand new one? I googled it. someone says its not but someone says it is. I am now debating between two gx. one is forementioned. One is pretty much same mileage 2014 base model but is a CPO. Similar price. Maybe I should really go with a CPO one with peace of mind lol.

There is zero reason to buy a gx that has a questionable service history.... there's enough rust free, cream puffs and mall crawlers out there to pick from.... pass

You quoted my post but it seems like you only read the first 7 words. I also said “unless ...”

Any update? Did thai fix your issues?

I believe I might be having a similar issue with my transmission...

Default P0705 cel code

I drove my gx for the first time in about 5 weeks. When I tried to start it the battery was dead. I jump started it and it fired right up.

When I put the transmission in drive the light in the instrument cluster never indicated it was in D. I did some searching and most people said to jiggle it back and forth and generally move it a bunch of times. This didn't fix the problem.

A short time later my 4lo light started flashing, the cel and slip indicator came on. Several times the car seems to slip out of gear, then go back into gear. Almost as if it wasn't all the way into drive.

When I made it home I read the codes and this one popped up. Does anyone have any experience with it?

I'm a little afraid I'm going to need a new transmission....
