Transmission Failure or Issues

Thanks for the reply...
I had seen that link in the past, but couldn't get it to work - still can't. When I follow the link it takes me to a Google Docs page, and I get an error message. [pic below] It does offer the option to download the file, which I did, but when I extract the zip file, it does not appear to be usable. Any guidance on what I need to do to get the downloaded files to work?

Experiencing same in 2002 ls430. Even in reverse.
Is anyone experiencing a low speed transmission surge or hesitation when appling first applying the gas at parking lot speeds.? I especially notice it when traveling downhill or a slight decline. The motor revs as if in neutral then the transmission catchs on. I mentioned it to the dealer at the 1000 mile check up and they said they could not find anything wrong. I'm getting ready to take it in for the 5000 mile service. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Not a very smooth transmission considering the price.
Thanks

OK - great! It is good to know to go to the index2 file, and especially good to know it seems to not work with Firefox - which I was using by default. When I told it to open with Chrome, it appears to be fine. I will now see if I can troubleshoot this thing. I started with an error code for the 'transmission range sensor A circuit' [code P0705], but since I also could feel the shifter didn't feel right I figured the sensor might just be telling the truth and the shifter was not cleanly in a single expected position. I opened up the center console and lubricated the ratchet assembly, cable end and the bushing. Then reset the code, and have had little problem with it since. BUT, I think my fix is temporary and I want to be prepared for the eventual further work. I suspect it will be either just the bushing, or maybe the whole cable assembly. If anyone has thoughts on this, I'm all ears!
Thanks again on the manual guidance.

I uploaded this one long ago in the TSB thread but something for 2010 owners to consider if you see these symptoms. There is an updated flash.
L-SB-0122-10Introduction
Some vehicles may exhibit the following shifting conditions:
L-SB-0122-10Introduction
Some vehicles may exhibit the following shifting conditions:
- Harsh shift on acceleration below 20 mph during the 2-1 downshift.
- Excessive lock-up operation at freeway speeds about 50 – 60 mph, sometimes referred to as “busy shifting”.
The Engine Control Module/ECM (SAE term: Powertrain Control Module/PCM) calibration has been revised. Use the following repair procedure to address these conditions.

911 transmission?
911
Towing my RV from SC to CA. 2011 gx. 261k miles. Felt a shudder on freeway that felt weird. Pulled over on next exit near Chunk MS. Couldn't find any codes with torque lite connected to OBD2. When to go put car in gear and transmission made nasty noise. Immediately put it back in park.
Have been sticking to about 62 mph. Trailer should be well under tow weight. Any suggestions?
Transmission won't go back in gear now.

No idea on fix.
Do you have something like AAA w/RV tier for trailer towing as well to get you to next town?
How is cell coverage? If ok...get OBD Fusion and purchase the Toyota/Lexus expansion pack so you can get at the codes.

Ugh, sorry to hear this. please keep us posted. The GX transmission is pretty reliable so curious what the outcome is.

Transmission blown at 60,000 miles?
Hi,
I recently had my 2017 GX serviced at a Lexus dealer, prior to the service the transmission was shifting fine. I had a drain and fill performed in line with the manuals recommendation. The GX has been serviced only at Lexus dealerships since I've owned it (almost 2 years). Immediately after the service, the transmission developed a shudder between 30 and 40 MPH with the engine RPM around 1200-1500 RPM, with an occasional more violent shudder on light acceleration around 20 MPH.
I brought it back to the dealer immediately, and they're now saying that the transmission needs to be replaced.
Has anyone heard of this with the GX? I've been driving Lexus/Toyota vehicles for over ten years, and never had a transmission fail immediately after a fluid change, or ever fail ever at all with multiple vehicles with over 200,000 miles over the past 15 years.

Pole Position
What service did you have performed ... just the fluid change ?

I wonder if they didn’t do a proper fluid level check? Basically…under or overfill condition

That is BS if they changed the fluid and then it failed they are responsible. IF they do not take responsibility call Lexus right away. Lexus dealers value customer relations score it determines allocation amounts and many other things, they want to keep you happy. After a fluid change there can be an air bubble that will cause a shudder. I bet the fluid is low not high. If they followed the fluid change procedure. https://www.clublexus.com/forums/att...sion-fluid.pdf
