What areas of the 460 are you finding a lack of info?
• Info in existing threads? / If so, let everyone know... we can all try to fill in the gaps
• Maintenance areas?
• Component Replacements?
• Overhauls?
• Mod?
All ideas appreciated
Thanks!

Remote start engine shut off when opening the door. I understand the anti-theft reasoning with this but I would like to bypass it. I am surprised that there is not a software hack or module to accomplish this.

Unfortunately that will likely be a tough one to crack. I'd probably look at ways to circumvent detection that driver's door had been opened as programmatically not likely to find a bypass. IE: Relay to cut detection of driver's door switch being opened

I have been having a hard time sourcing the stereo wiring information. '10 base stereo specifically. I am looking for the outputs to intercept before or at the factory amp to hook up to new equipment.

i would guess that this approach may have other consequences - I.e. when you turn off the car and get out the car would not register that a door had been opened and therefore leave the accessories on.

I don’t think opening the door is the problem for this, the trigger is unlocking the doors.
EDIT: Confirmed touching the door handle which unlocks the door shuts the truck down.

I’m glad techman started with the remote start topic...+1 Lexus if you’re listening
also: Idiot chimes that dont shutoff when you have to leave the back window up for short trips - eg moving between fishing holes w my fly rods hanging out the back. Also chimes when you open the door before u shut the car off. Shut the car off still chimes away... iI’d almost sacrifice chimes altogether they provide little help and are really annoying. Old 4th gen 4Runner didn’t behave like this.

I did find a bypass for the rear window.

The chime when opening the door will stop (not while using auxiliary power) just push on the door button.

Each of those could potentially be used in a system solution. If you have a voltage that is present only on remote start, this could be used to start either a timer relay or set a relay position.
Timer idea:
While that remote voltage is present, and say for 1 minute after, the relay sends a signal to keep the vehicle on (think voltage tied to IGN), or the relay prevents the vehicle from sending the signal to turn it off (think relay open and preventing +12V/GND).
Relay position idea:
Similar to above, except that the relay switches based on another signal instead of waiting a time. instead of waiting 1 minute after the remote signal is gone, the auto off override relay keeps the vehicle on until the seat sensor detects you, or something else.

Is there a wire with a voltage (looking for analog not digital signals) that can indicate that the remote start option is engaged? Do you know how the vehicle is turned off (IGN cut via ECU, something else) when the door is unlocked or opened?

they can, but you can do it much cheaper by buying the Toyota/Lexus kit that is widely available online. It comes with the necessary module and wiring harnesses and is a relatively straightforward install by removing some trim panels and the glovebox. The install manual PDF is readily available on this site if you’d like to look through it and determine if it’s a project you feel comfortable tackling.
