I am installing an aftermarket light bar to the car. The light is connected to battery while its remote control receiver needs tap into engine bay fuse box. The best choice would be a fuse that comes on/off with ignition so the receiver doesn't consume power when the car is off. I went through almost all nonessential fuses with multimeter and they all remain hot after ignition is off. When I tried rear window deicer and defogger but they are off even after engine start. Did I do something wrong? Any suggestion on the fuse slot?

Thank you! I remember tried that one but will test it again once I am home. Could it be that all fuse slots in engine bay remain powered for certain amount of time after the ignition is off?

My dash cam shuts down when I turn the car off and I am still in the car.

Yes. courtesy lights were off and I locked the car just to be sure.

Same here with my dash cam. But it was wired to the cabin fuse box next to parking brake pedal.

Please make sure to use a fuse tap to be safe, comes with inline fuse:

Although what's above will work, one that more resembles the fuse should be used. This gives more assured seating.

There's a lot of confusion on names and types of fuse styles.
