Default Rubbing

I actually experienced a little rubbing when I had 265/65R18 on stock everything. They were Michelin Energy Saver A/S.

just adding data point for others reading this thread.

Sounds like some rub and some don't with 265/65/18. I will probably roll the dice. It sounds like even if it does rub it's nothing a little massaging of the inner fender liner with a heat gun can't solve.

It’s a COMPLETE crap shoot. My 14 GX rubbed slightly before I trimmed up some plastic fender liner and I removed the wheels and tires to my new GX and absolutely no rubbing at all.

Btw I’m on 275 65 18

i havent heard of anyone not being able to eliminate the rub (front) if they have the alignment adjust back for it. the adjustment for setback, shops can adjust both to move the tires back. neutral setback yet still farther back.
i wont get a chance to do this myself because the tires I want arent available in any of the common slightly larger sizes mentioned on this forum.

if someone does do this adjustment and still cant get rid of the rub, that would be some news.

For me, i may just get BFG KO2 at STOCK size and call it a day...and save some money since i will be able to keep the OEM spare.

I do off-road on occasions and the last thing i want is some rubbing on something at max articulation or when making a sharp turn going over obstacle. I am not a fan of adjusting my alignment to compensate for bigger tires...nor do I like trimming or using zip ties etc..

I wish the k02 came in 265/65/18 or 265/60/18 in a C load. Don't really want or have the need to run an E load tire. Thinking I may go down to 17" wheel and go with the 265/70/17 k02 in C load, same diameter (31.6") as 265/65/18.

I believe the C-load for KO2 only has 2 plies in the sidewall (vs 3 in E).

I could be wrong but I think C is 6 ply and E is 10. Either way, I have no need for 10 ply and do not wish to degrade ride quality. E will also be a good bit heavier thanks to those extra plies.

If I were planning to do serious off roading I would consider the E but like most Ko2 buyers I just think they look cool

6-10 plies is referring to the TREAD. Sidewall on BFG AT KO2 is either 2 plies (C) or 3 plies (E). Not a big deal but if you do off-road, then 3-ply sidewall is ideal.

Thanks for clearing that up

Question for those running this size. How much of a power loss did you notice going up one size? I did the same thing with KO2s in my Tacoma and I could tell a difference. Granted that's a V6 but still. I'd like to stick with the stock size but KO2s are sold out everywhere. If I step up one size I can get them easily

I didn’t notice any discernible difference. Still quiet and smooth too. I drive my wife’s bone stock GX and it rides the same as mine with the K02s.

Perfect thanks. I'm pretty sure I'm overthinking this but the GX is my wife's and she wants to keep the floaty couch like ride in tact. She also wants badass looking ATs with good snow performance and that's the tough part.
