Today I went for a 210 mile highway trip with my 2019 Gx 460. It was an awesome experience. But the car was fully covered with dirt(road salt ??) . So as soon as I came back I washed the car (2 bucket method with pressure washing). All sections of the car was looking good except the back. I noticed while drying that the Back door shows marks even after washing. I was worried by looking at this. So I tried washing the back door again but without any luck. Not sure what are these marks. I doubt if they are water marks as it was not at all sunny and pretty much whole car was like that. But not sure what is the issue with back door alone.
Anyone has faced similar issue ? Is there a solution to this ? Could you please help.
I don't have any marks but it always seems like no matter how well I clean the back door some dirt ends up running out somewhere after washing it.
I usually have to touch up the back door the day after. That being said... still in filth mode here in Seattle. Less guilt when I am out driving in the rain. :-)
Lots of dirt gets trapped in/under/around the rear spoiler and rear wiper, that in turn runs down the back glass or under it and around the back glass molding. You will have to clean these areas by hand after a wash for the most part. I agree with @Acrad35751 it is probably best to touch up later or the day after after most areas have dried.
Thank you guys for the inputs. Its not dirt trapped . I have attached the pictures for your reference. I have 2 pictures showing the marks on the back door and 1 which shows left side of the vehicle not far from the back door which is in perfect shape. Any inputs are really appreciated .
Any chance there’s some defect in the finish on the rear hatch? That’s really strange - we have a 14, live in a salty area in the winter, and I’ve never noticed this on our rear door after a wash.
I had a discussion with my Detailer who had applied Ceramic coating. He thinks that these are watermarks and is mostly from the previous carwash not wiped fully. He has suggested to use Carpro spotless. I'll be trying that one and report back on how it goes.
Did you use any special detergent? Amazon has a line of Optimum No Rinse products that are designed to use as little water as possible. Try adding something similar to the two-bucket method, and the result might be very different. Further, you can try ceramic coating for the car to protect it from rapid contamination. Even if it doesn't solve the pollution problem completely, it'll at least be able to minimize it. One wash session with https://sparklewash.com/nashville/ is enough for my truck. But you can use more gentle means for passenger cars
