Thanks to all on the forum as this was one of two locations where my research was completed.
Took delivery of the ‘16 Premium on 2/2/19. 42k miles, 1 owner from Florida with two small incident reports on the CarFax. Airbags didn’t deploy in either case. Dealer let me put it on their lift and poke around. No bolts on the structural members had been turned or replaced. All plastics. All cosmetics. That helped seal the deal and saved me about $5k on the price.

Very nice looking to possibly due similar. Do u know what the max size wheels & tires you could do without lifting ?
Massively depends on wheel offset. I could go bigger, but would need to go with more positive offset to keep it out of the body mount, but I’m also up 2”.
This tire size and the equivalent 275/65/18 with an offset near stock should fit a stock truck.
Have to admit, those 20" rims sure look sexy shod with those KO2's!
The only issue I'd have would be when off roading, one usually needs as much sidewall height as possible for flex so one doesn't bend, crack or chip a rim bead.
How is the ride with that size rim? Since you increased the O.D. of the tire, I don't think there is much difference in tire sidewall size.

Compared to the stock setup, I have about 1/4" less sidewall with the new setup. (up 2" in diameter on the wheel, and up 1.45" on the tire size)
Honestly, the ride is damn incredible. The wife is VERY picky and critical about my vehicle modifications and she put 45 miles on it Saturday morning with no complaints. When I asked she had no ill complaints, and claims it rides like stock.
It has a little less body roll now, and seems more responsive to steering input, but it's goes down the road as if we didn't modify it.
Great to hear that! My wife is also very involved with my mods. If you go here:https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/r2m...#post-12220854 you can see my expo rig that I built. My previous overlander (100 series Landcruiser) was a little out of hand and she didn't like riding in it after a while.
I have to make sure I don't lose or compromise any of the creature comforts that I bought this for or face her wrath!

I do admire your build, and while I have no need, there's muuuuuuuuuuuuuch want
I had my '17 Tacoma for 14 months, and the wife never drove it. Hated it. It was on a 6" BDS Stage 2 lift, 35" Ridge Grapplers, etc. Such a fun truck.
She's driven the GX 4 times in 3 weeks, and twice now since Friday with the lift. I think that speaks volumes itself. Luckily she loves her 2017 MDX so I don't think she'll take my GX much unless we're together.
MCDavis, this is my third expo rig I've built. My first was an F350 crewcab lifted 6" with 37" tires (and of course 3 air compressors, dual batteries, 15k lb winch, etc, etc, etc.), then my Landcruiser with a 4" lift and 35" tires and now this GX. I point this out because my wife is only 5'1" and even though she had no problem getting into my F350, even with a mini-skirt (and not flashing), she still prefers the relatively moderate height and build of my GX.
which shocks did you go with in the Dobinsons lift? Are you still happy with the ride quality ? I would like to do something similar in an 18inch setup. Love the offset and stance on your truck btw

Thanks. It's the nitro kit, comfort valved. The ride quality is very good, better than stock actually as it's responsive and less floaty, but not uncomfortable. I highly recommend this setup for anyone not carrying a consistent load, but wants a height increase. The D-load BFGs do add some stiffness, but it's far from being bad. The wife is very picky about how my modified vehicles ride, and she's yet to complain or comment on this one. That's a win.
