Default GX460 Cooling Seat Question

I recently purchased a 2020 GX460 and I am disappointed in the cooled seats. My parents have a NX and the seat coolers work great. But, the GX460 is 40% as strong as the NX. Is this normal? The dealership is telling me that the GX only has backrest cooling and the actual seat portion isn't actually cooled. There's no used/new GX's that we can compare it to at our local dealership in CA. The car is primary driven by my GF and she say's it's a terrible feeling having sweaty thighs on leather seats.

I thought I remember some makes years back having filters on these seats that were replaceable.
Acrad always seems to have good info, my go to in the past.

Ugh... after having our car outside in the hot weather for the first time since purchasing... the seats were put to the test this weekend. HOWWWWWWWW disappointing. It's like the cooling is non-existent. Pales in comparison to my 2013 GS.

Seat portion is cooled. I can feel air coming out w/ my hand. It's just not very strong. I don't really feel anything through my pants, shorts basketball shorts. I haven't tried naked yet.

They're not "cooled" seats. Just ventilated. If the air under/around the seat is hot, there's not much cooling the fans can do.

^ This. I cannot count how many times I've had to explain the difference across multiple platforms. LOL

Reviving this topic to see if anyone has done any tweaks to their setup? I've noticed that this system is woefully inadequate at actually pushing air. The usual hot and sticky Texas summer with a black GX and black leather has been pretty brutal. If I didn't have remote start installed by the factory I'd be up a **** creek! I like the idea of upgrading the fan but looking at how the 2010-2013 fans look I have no idea how that would even be accomplished.

i had an IS350 for a while and it had the same issue. One of the guys in that forum made a 3D printed box that attached to the under seat vent and directed that cool air up towards the seat bottom. This made a big difference because the under seat fans were pulling the air from beneath the seats. Perhaps it goes without saying, but you had to set your hvac controls to send some air to the floor level.

I’ve never actually been in the back seat of my GX. Do we have under seat vents for the second row passengers or do we just have the center console vents + the vents in the headliner?

There are vents under the front seats for both 2 and 3 zone HVAC models.

Default Ventilated Seats

When I picked up my new 2022 GX, the heated seats worked great. Now with warmer weather I tried the ventilated seats with the air conditioner. I can't feel any air blowing. I got out the manual and the heat and vent wheel is moved forward for heat and roll it back for air to blow. If air is blowing it is weak. On my wife's 2005 ES 300 you can feel the cool air instantly. Anyone else notice this?
