The 4Runners and GX have this problem. I believe a few people were able to get the blower motor/fan switched out under warranty.

It looks pretty easy to swap if it is defective.

That's exactly how mine is. Low I can't hear it. Second setting to just above medium is pretty annoying. I was just curious if I had an issue or it was normal.

I guess if I can't handle it I will look into swapping the blower motor.

Default 2014 GX driver side vents not as cold as passenger side

Anyone else experience this issue? I'm hoping some motor behind the dash isn't dead. Eventually after driving for about 10 minutes the driver side will cool down a little but never gets as cold as the passenger side.

Figured it out. Ran all the air motor tests in TechStream, no issues with them. I check the refrigerant pressure, was low on a charge. Added some r134a anda/c is cold out of all vents, also added leak dye if there is a leak.

Default A/C Control Question

Is the A/C control unit belong in the upper unit or lower unit that has navigation? The reason I am asking is that when my navigation unit went bad, I removed the lower unit. If remember correctly the A/C was running after I removed the lower navigation unit for a couple of days before it quit. I thought it was the function in the lower unit. However, I reinstalled the lower unit and I still do not have A/C controls. Which fuses should I check? I have lost the fuse diagram n the cabin so not sure which ones to check. If you know, please assist. Thanks in advance.

the upper half (with touch screen) host all A/C control switch and display components. However, the control unit for function, air flow, temp regulator, try-zone, etc., are control via CAN Bus, which is passed through the lower half of the unit to A/C ECU. So, you will need a functional lower part of the unit to actually make the A/C work.

Thanks hxhao. I am trying to figure out why my AC is not turning on at all. No control of any buttons. I believe it was working even when I took the lower unit out.

I believe the amplifier assembly is the HVAC ECU

thanks Acrad. I checked the fuses and they are all good. It is possible that the power source from my navigation unit is bad. I sure hope it is all bad in the same unit. I plan to take the car to the dealer next week to check it out. Very frustrating.

Default Rear climate ventilation air feeling weak

2010 with tri-zone climate control. The air blows out very weakly in the rear. I’ve checked making sure all the adjustments are correct and replaced cabin filter with no improvements. Any thoughts to fix this or something I’m doing wrong?

The rear HVAC unit is located on the right rear side. No filter for the 3rd zone that I have ever seen. Perhaps the fan in rear unit is going out?

Yeah, it is the fan. My 2010 does it as well, but it hasn't bothered me enough to change it out. You may be able to remove the existing and check for debris/lubricate to see if that helps. If not, then just replace it as an easy DIY.
