Default A/C fluttering noise with blower on high.

I guess if I can't handle it I will look into swapping the blower motor.
Mine makes fluttering noise with A/C on. Mechanic told me it was fan blade assembly. I bought the motor with fan and will change it out this weekend. Motor assembly cost $115.00.

I got a code B1441 or 41 when holding the Auto and Recirc HVAC auto check buttons. My symptoms are no face air in all modes but floor air flows strong. My take is that either the floor or face air diverter or both is stuck. I got floor air in all modes which makes me thing the floor diverter is actually stuck open. Any idea how to get to this part?

Just wanted to give a closure to this project, I unplugged the battery and reconnected to “reset” the HVAC system and everything seems to work properly now. The culprit that I found is that the mode servo tried to move when switching the mode which indicated that it’s not stuck and the error code is for a different component. I suspect that the actual HVAC computer was out of alignment which cause it to give an error code for a different component and the servos stuck between two immediate positions. In conclusion, a lot of time the complex systems in modern cars sometime give indications that something is broken but in fact it just needs a reset. Go with the least invasive repair first. At first the thought of tearing into the dash (driver side) to get to the mode servo seems repulsive to me, glad I didn’t have to do it.

Default DTC B1497/97 Bus IC Communication Malfunction

Hi guys,

I am getting trouble code B1497/97 for GX causing a lack of any hot air from the heater core into the interior of the cabin. According to field service manual from a 2012 gx model that i able to download, it describes this issue as either air condition harness assembly or air conditioning amplifier assembly. So, for 2017 gx, what is the best way to access the air condition harness assembly or air conditioning amplifier assembly? I wasn't able to find either when i pulled the glove box out. And second, what type of an air conditioning active test would you run to diagnose an open/short circuit for this issue? Reason i am asking this is because i purchased a VCi OBD II with diagnostic software that i am able to run live tests for various servos but don't know how to compare the values that i get from the value that are expected.

Thanks in advance to the community for his matter and please be gentle cause this my first post and i am not a car mechanic.

Default AC drain tube

I had my transmission rebuilt and afterwards I could not find the AC drain tube. In the past I noticed that it dripped directly onto the ground. Finally I found it and it looked like they cut the tube and now it drips onto the frame rail. Does anybody have a picture or can confirm that it drips directly onto the ground?

The AC drain drips down onto the frame just like every other toyota and lexus truck/ SUV. If you lay on your back inside passenger tire and look up you can see the white bent AC drain tube coming out from the backside of the glovebox. I performed the above linked mod to prevent it from dripping on the frame which tends to a magnet for rust formation.

tons of tacoma and 4runner and tundra and sequoia guys have done this mod with no ill effects. highly recommend it especially for those that live in areas where the roads are treated for winter.

Default climate control error

I have a 2010 GX460 when I turn the AC on I get a climate control error. Is it a senor gone bad or the AC unit. Have any experience that problem ?

Default A/C Slow Start

So I've tried the google machine, and the search machine on here, but its a pretty simple question. Does anyone else's AC take a minute or so to get going? I'm not talking like it takes a second to get cold, I mean it isn't blowing anything for a good 30 sec - 1min. Is that normal or do I need to see a shop? It's a 2018 premium, btw.

Thanks!

My 2014 is pretty noticeable. I'd say it's about 10 seconds before it starts blowing after turning the car on. Feels like an eternity here in South Carolina during the summer heat 💀

Mine does this as well. Usually takes about 10-15 seconds for the fan to start blowing full blast. I think it's designed that way by Lexus so it doesn't blow hot air in your face when you first get in the car on a hot day. 🤷‍♂️

I honestly am not sure since I don't have a reader, but I'll ask my shop to take a look as well. So far it seems like maybe its just normal? I counted yesterday its more like 15 seconds to blowing. It does blow cold, its just like it takes a second to get going. It seemed strange taking that long hence the question of "is this normal?"
